  1. Have a look here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=36497 They would breed/spawn the same way. Hope that helps.
  2. CO2 will drop the ph as when it disolves with water it produces a week acid. The amount of CO2 going into a tank that size would have little if no effect on the ph. Just keep an eye on them.
  3. Not right up with the play with pricing on the aquaones but you can get the eheim classic starting at under $200.
  4. Don't worry i will. But if mine die and i haven't passed any on then im in the !!!!
  5. might be some coming up here soon, not 100% sure what type or if they would suit but worth a look. http://www.bfound.net/list.aspx?CoId=131&rq=1
  6. I might be able to help with that shortly, just hatched a few more to.
  7. You get what you pay for. Eheim are the only filter i will buy. Not dear either if you get them on sale and will last years. I brought a second hand one about 10 years ago and sold it a year or so later. About a week ago someone down by me brought it. I would say that filter was 15 years old and still going strong. Doubt and aqua one or jbl would be going after that long.

depends on what type you are thinking about, pretty much no to the tropical but as had been said there are tropical. Someone in Auckland had a coldwater one a while back
  11. Who?? Are they a basketball team?
  12. Does anyone know who the supplier is for Vari Kennels i think they are made by Petmate. I am after one but am finding it hard to source..
  13. What area of NZ are you in?
  14. So i wet my first batch of eggs, they were left with adults for 7 days. Total count 15 :-? not great but enough i hope to get some more females. Peat was stored for 3 months.
  15. right, so now you have the info when will the build start. Warren, are you onto yours yet?
  16. I also agree that the pump would be ok, large opening where the water comes out of the pump. When i had one of the rio's in my tank i found it worked best when turned down a bit, at full blast the impellor jumped a bit. Not a problem with all i though.
  17. 2400 per ltr is not to much, the flow may be though. You could split the flow and have 2 - 4 outlets from the one pump thru the tank.
  18. Yeah so the 50mm face is glued to the end and the 12mm face is glued to the front. When you look at it from the front the width of the glass would be 24mm. I do this on each corner and the base. I also do a similar thing along the top of the centre brace of the larger tanks. As mentioned prior if there is a small amount of flex this puts alot of pressure on the joins. My tanks tend to be over built but would rather do that than have them blow.
  19. The flex in the glass should still be the same so good bracing is really important. I made a tank a month or so back that was 900h x 600w x 290d. Was to go in a wall hence the random size. I used 12mm toughened with polished edges, at each end the was a 24mm contact/join. A strip of 12mm polished about 50mm wide top to bottom. No flex at all. With not looking at figures and going on what i have done in the past, i would look at 10mm to be the min thickness you would want even if as you said the workings say you could get away with thinner.
