  1. I'm guessing you came up with snowflake?
  2. I'm guessing the picture worked :happy2: Her stomach had a pinkish tinge to it earlier and now it's gone a definite yellow colour. Yeah sorry it's a pretty bad photo, you can't see it very well but the one on the left is quite a few shades darker than the one on the right. Also another bully has a cream body but over half of it is covered in black patterning, would you guess male or female? thanks,
  3. Thanks for that I might have two females and two (fat) males. The one on the right is the pregnant female and the other is a male? I hope the image works.... This is my first time posting a picture... Please excuse the blurry picture none of the cameras get along with the computer so its phone quality...
  4. I had a good look at them again just before...... If I had say 4 female common bullies and and no mature males would the females release the eggs? Or would they get egg bound. Also how do you id male commons? I have two small ones that I'm hoping are males...
  5. She was caught in a tidal stream on the beach, but I also caught 3 commons there.... :ton: So are they harmless? If so I'll just keep an eye on them. Thanks
  6. Today I was doing a water change and as usual all of the bullies came to see what was happening. I noticed one of them has a VERY big belly and appears to be full of eggs (yay) also she has 6 dorsal rays, giant? Also I noticed she has a small white sort of wart like growth on her tail, I had a look at the other bullies and a couple of them have the same sort of growth on their pectoral fins. I don't know if any of the other fish have them because they are still hiding after the water change. So what I want to know is what you guys would say it is (I doubt that it is whitespot doesn't quite look like it to my untrained eyes) and what you would recommend as treatment (maybe salt, but how much?) I also have kokopu inanga and crays, incase they're sensitive to anything. Thanks

Welcome. It looks like kids are taking over, me silverdollarboy and you, lol
  8. I think he means the signature, you can change it in the user control panel.
  9. Perfectly legal, just don't go fishing in reserves :ton: I don't think there are any seasonal restrictions on koura. And you can technically take post-whitebait out of season (ones with patterning) but since it's whitebait season, it's more fun to grow them yourself. Tell us how you go with breeding them (I'm hoping to set up a pond system to try and breed them) Also if you end up with any unwanted galaxiids I'd be happy to take them Have fun
  10. That is an awesome fish! :nfs:
  11. So if they're not on the import list does that mean they aren't legal or are we just not allowed to bring in new fish and the current ones can be bred?
  12. Rasbora paviana seems to be the only one with the correct stripe length.....
  13. After further enlightenment I think it's a fish! :-P Can I please have a link to that import list?
  14. *Edit I'm changing my guess to rasbora paviana! ;-)
  15. Definitely not native....
