My acros had nice colours before the flat worm incident and i had never dosed it. (water changes and calc only) i didnt say it had nothing to do with it, i said i wouldnt have thought that it would have effected it that much

i wouldnt have though the Mg would effect the colour hugely. how long have they been in there without incident?

thanks wasp, the good thing about it is that most people cant see my desk unless they come over to see me so i dont get to many people inturupting me. having the fish in there makes it alot more enjoyable, interesting behaviour etc

depends on howmuch flow you want, small pipes will restrict the flow, im using 32mm for my closed loop and return pipe and probably the size larger for the overflow

all depends on what the water flow is doing, you obviously dont want water going down the overflow that has just come back up from the sump

can you explain how its avoidable, i have room for movement in my setup and would like to know which option would be best under a highly stocked tank

?? didnt quite follow. the idea is that the same amount of water is going to go over the over flow(that is dictated by the plumbing and return pump), what you need to consider is how much of the water going down the overflow is from the surface
