hey, turns out ill be using 25mm, the bulk heads come in pretty much every size 25,32.... ill be using 2x25mm for the over flow, that then go to 32 for the stand pipe

there might actually be something to that theory, the brown variety has slowed in growth since i've had the white type, may just be that they like the same junk in the water

if there where a list of things not for begginers then anemones would be on it

cabinet is now pretty much finished, i just need to plain a little bit off the right hand side of the front to give a slightly better fit, and get the magnet attachments for the door. im fairly happy with the way it turned out and even claire likes it enough to say that she doesnt mind having a tank that big anymore

so the list is only getting smaller :-? so much for getting a cool little shrimp goby

hey dave, youve seen by current little tank, its fairly simple. the thing you need to think about is what you want to keep and design the tank around that (rather than have a tank and shove something in it that might not "fit") the filter in the aquaone tanks is not ideal, my brother just setup one but he is chucking the filter and putting in a protein skimmer and he is beefing up the lights so that all is left it the tank and the light part (sort of).

yep, warren this list was just to get a quick idea, i still think there is ahuge shortcoming in what we will be able to get pics of

thats why i think we should list the fish we know for a fact we can get pics of so we can see how many fish there really are compared to the choice we would like to have, i think you will be suprised to see what a small variety is actually been kept at the moment

i've seen the allowed list but never seen the banned list, what is the difference between banned and not allowed?

my list is fairly short Percula, melanopus, occelaris clown sixline wrasse yellow tang green chromis mandarin picasso trigger clown trigger

we'll see, as a tentative thing i'll start a thread to list the fish youve got (or can get a picture off.) remember that ther people in this site have a finite amount of fish and there are alott of fish around that we wont be able to get pics of.

so basicly anything thats not on the allowed list is "illegal" so they will never be on the list, and so the list will only get smaller? there are some great fish that aren't on the list that are not available regularly and its not likely that we'll be able to find a pic of them

Obviously this is going to have a huge impact, but does it not seem a little stange to anyone else that they want pictures of fish already in NZ and everything else will more than likely be left off the list??? so there is no chance of getting fish that are not here at the moment but you really want but do not pose a risk to the NZ environment?? and what if you do have a fish thats not on the allowed list and you submit a photo?? does that mean they will come to your house with a bottle of bleach and a bio hazard bag?? seems a very strange way of deciding whats allowed in
