my first tank was very similar to what he has and it traped allot of crap that could easily have been avoided by having the rocks even a few cm from the sand. it makes it alot easier to avoid dead spots, not much involved either. seems strange that you would advise against something that might help him and make life easier :-?

looks good. only suggestion i have is to elevate the rocks off the sand a bit (cant tell if they are sitting on racks at the back

heres a pic of my planned aquascape :lol: if anyone has suggestions about improving flow and light use via aquascape speak up. the plan is to have the return coming from the right hand side over the top with a seaswirl so it covers the whole tank nicely.

okokokok this is the overflow got made (did i mention creative plastics did a great job??) just ignore the reflections side veiw from the table (dinner time veiwing)

easiest way was with the cutter part of some needle nose pliers, nice and neat. i got my return pump this evening after and inpromptu visit form Ben (dogmatix) good to meet another hamilton reefer in person as well (james) should sort out some plumbing lateron this week but need to confirm some details with the seaswirl people

yeah, it seems strange that they switched for one type of skimmer but stayed for the other

so the turbo models use aquabee and the ap models use deltec??? any reason for that?

hey i hear ya chimera. i think we should make about 3-4 little nano's (about 20 litres) to various dimensions and see what looks best.

Im wanting to clean the inside of my tank and dont want any nasties left behind.(nothing that a rinse wont get rid of) would some type of alcohol be appropriate?? if so what type
