they are good size for mandarins. live food is all they eat so chances are he will become accustomed to them. best to dump the shrimp in the tank as soon as they're hatched as the egg sack is the nutritious part of the shrimp - the shrimp itself doesnt do much good for the fish. speaking of brine shrimp, they are a pain to hatch. does anyone have the "recipe" complete with pic's that someone from RC (i think melev?) made? i posted it here AGES ago but can't find the @#$#$%$ thing!

does anyone know where to get rails typically used to hang barn doors from? i want to use them for my lights to they slide out the way - same as what steve weast uses... i was also looking for some vertical shelving type rails today so i could slide the lights up/down (all i could find is the snap and lock type system, im looking for the one that slides inside a cavity and locks at any height) anyone know of any places? cheers

more than welcome tell me about it... all i got is my crappy little 5mp sony digital camera, funny though, say that 2 years ago people would have said "yeah right"

yeah, when lights are back on i'll get a photo. crap camera though, took a shot of a green acro I just got yesterday. in the tank it's brown with a very visible green tinge all over, on camera it's just brown and washed out damn sony's. need a canon! i know the photo above photo looks good but thats coz the whole monti is a vibrant pink - anything with slight colour the camera does a poor job at picking it out.

i gotta small maxima clam which got knocked quite hard when i was moving some rock and it ripped it's foot clear off i moved it up under some more light so i could keep an eye on it, it's open up and everything looks fine except the missing foot. this obviously means it can't move around, but will the foot grow back? if not will it live without it?

cheers, maybe i try that? i want darker colours, have you got an article that explains zeo iron or should i just speak to brendan? i started feeding phytoplankton about a month ago every 3rd night, PE is CRAZY when i do (in fact, it's crazy even when i don't!) i'm also going to raise the lights a couple of inches, i think it's TOO bright but i guess at least i don't need to buy ANYTHING new when i upgrade (except the tank of course,... and maybe a new stream or two :lol: )
