  1. My youngest dragon is getting too big to hold with one hand at: 10months old, 46cm (18") and weighs 320g
  2. I would also recommend leopard geckos. A LOT easier and cheaper to care for than bearded dragons/water dragons etc. Leopards don't need UV, don't need a very large enclosure, are easy to feed and clean. Can be kept on a diet of mainly mealworms (which are the cheapest live food available) but I would definitely recommend using other live food as well for variety. My lot all eat lots of locusts, mealworms, wax worms etc Only down side is they're nocturnal so you don't see much of them during the light hours. Although they do often get up in the late afternoon. You need pretty deep pockets as alan said if you get a dragon, they eat a lot; and live food gets REALLY expensive if you're not breeding yourself.
  3. The only one I have noted at the moment is my youngest: My wee girl is 9 months old, 46cm (18inches) and 300g Still need to re-weigh and measure my other two.
  4. I'm really interested in how large everyones bearded dragons are. So what's their weight, age and length everyone?
  5. My male doesn't really puff up anymore but my female keeps sucking in air till their body is massive and balloon like (she's not the most tame in comparison to him). Reminds me of a puffer fish.
  6. The two coastals I have did this when they had their first bath after getting home. I stopped them part way through as I hadn't seen it before and they had their head dunked for far too long was worried about them drowning themselves lol. Have seen them drink in the bath a couple times since then but never like that first day when they looked like they were trying to drown themselves. Does yours puff its body up in the bath? I always wondered if they were trying to fill their body with water instead of air, puffing themselves up.
  7. Plant wise? Rocket, endive, mint leaf, oregano, small bits of apple, sometimes bits of berries, dandelion (leaves and flowers), is the norm. Sometimes have small bits of carrots, bell peppers, or a little bit of banana once in a while. I'm sure there's more I add in that I can't remember.
  8. Win made myself a mint new background today after getting a lovely pic of one of my girls (7months old,18 inches), as a note the lizards colours haven't been edited etc. I'll make it smaller to show on page and pop a link below of a full size 1920x1080 background just incase someone wants it too Link to 1920x1080 full size image for PC background: http://i.imgur.com/7lKMV.jpg
  9. My 7 month old Inland beardies enclosure currently (hopefully the pictures work). The enclosure is 120 x 45 x 60cm, olive fake grass substrate with tray of red sand in the basking area for retaining more heat and digging. And the little chunker. Building a nice background etc currently for a leopard gecko enclosure. Will post build pics once it's done. Thanks go to alanmin too for my new gecko ^^
  10. I have some of these on my locusts tanks, you can get them for around $13 off ebay free shipping, same ones.
  11. repto stop being such a rude ****. Believe what you will, I'm 100% sure there was one back then. Mainly because it was so interesting to see a reptile with spikes all over. Unless there's another reptile that looks exactly like a thorny but isn't a thorny. Regardless can anyone answer me any questions on the frillies or monitors? Like I've been trying to find out this whole time and the original topic was about?
  12. They look A LOT different. Was definitely a thorny devil I saw. I remember how crazily spiky it was . Out of interest does anyone know if there's still monitors around? I haven't seen any of those for sale for a good few years now.
  13. I'd love to get my hands on one, stop me being so jealous of the UK lol.
  14. Yea I wondered about that, my father always used to tell stories of the frilly lizards that use to get up on their hind legs and run, in a bay where my grandmother used to live here. Apparently I saw them as a kid, but I can't remember.
  15. I answered that already? I saw one for sale at an animates a while back, from memory it was the one at tower junction Chch at the time. Haven't seen one since though. I took note of it as I had always wanted one.
  16. Heya, my wee one that's finally gotten into it a around 6months old juv, the others are full adults, mainly eating rocket, dandelion, endive, squash(for the ones that will eat it) and mustard greens. With bits of apple and capsicum every so often. The greens are easily gotten through a bag of mesclun salad from the supermarket, but you got watch out for the ones with spinach in them as it and hinder calcium absorption, easy to just pick it out though. They also all get a selection of insects, locusts, wax worms, mealworms etc. with the appropriate powders on them
  17. lolwut repto? In most forums I use, it states an edited at the base of a comment if someones edited it... So generally you put a comment to state why. edited: swearing
  18. Yea I know, that's one of my coastals being a pain in the bum pressing keys while I'm trying to type. Pic was in reference to my comment above it
  19. Maybe they were illegally selling them at animates without realising? The ants they eat is the same one we mainly have here too from memory? Would be quite difficult to keep. edit: typos, my coastal thought pressing keys would be helpful.
