Wgton to Auckland is currently $29 night flight from Air NZ. But they won't let you parachute out half way there. Otherwise, standby from Auckland to Napier is about $55, and then a bus from Napier to Hastings is about $4. You need to walk from the Napier airport to the nearest bus stop in Napier which I think is the 15 bus route ( Ahuriri )

A quick google seems to say that Pimafix is also an oil, so will sit on the water surface and likely have the same effect as melafix. As said above, a picture would help .. no friends who have internet bandwidth available?

Perhaps just as well. Melafix is said to be dangerous for fish with a labyrinth organ as it can interfere with its function.

Had another meal last night of prawns and have all the shells sitting to be put out in the compost. But ... wonder if I can chuck a few into the tropical tank as a source of calcium etc?

Side note: 1000 cubic metres is 1000 IBCs. Makes it easy to measure the water you're taking so that you don't go over your daily limit.

You see oil slicks around the boats when they are berthed at the wharf. But I'm guessing it doesn't really matter as it's a surface contaminant, and if you only use the water below the surface, it should be good.

Is collecting water from the wharf any good? Or do the boats discharge nasties into the water rendering the water unusable?
