  1. Do you have any algae issues? What size is your tank and what filter do you have?
  2. I have that same tank which also had the 3D background and the plane (on the floor in front). I paid $329 from Animates for that setup (was on super special a few months ago) Way too many fish. I have 15 neons 5 Striata Loaches and one bristlenose. I thought I had a few too many fish!
  3. I have a JBL permanent Co2 test kit which is basically the same thing. The instuructions say change the reagent ever water change, at the latest 14 days. The reagent if have is" Art. No.25386" if that makes any sense.
  4. That is cool. What sort of moss is it?
  5. Thanks Didn't read the forum properly
  6. What are you using to fix the BBA? Flourish Excel? Could you have got this directly on the loach? You could try a drop of wunder tonic directly on the eye as per this post http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=39643&p=431613&hilit=cloudy+eye#p431613. I have cut my lights by an hour and dose excel along with DIY co2. Too much light and not enough co2 . The loach had the eye problem while it was still in the bag from HFF. Noticed it before any of my water touched it.
  7. Thanks for the info. I will watch him closely for the next week and see if it improves. I first noticed it when I was still acclimatising them to the new water/temperature. Just funny how the other two in the same bag were fine. Maybe this one is a wee bit sensitive huh? My water conditions are good. Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 5-10 and PH is 6.4. PH is a little low due to Wood and Co2 input I think. Edit: Should I perhaps do a couple of extra water changes or would this stress him more maybe?
  8. I bought this guy with two others yesterday from HFF. Both of his eyes are cloudy and he seems to be blind. When exploring his new home he just kept on swiming into everything. He has since setteled in but does not hide in the same spots as my other Striata's. Instead of going under the rock caves he just rests on top. If he is close to the glass and I move my hand next to him he does not flinch at all. All the other loaches run for cover. He also does not seem to school very well like the rest do (5 in total). Apart from being unaware of what is going on around him he seems happy and is starting to graze in the sand etc as normal. The wierd thing is that his eyes seem to move as normal. He is starting to get a bit more colour in him also. My question is, could this be an invection of some sort and could it be spread to the others or is just a defect in the fish? I called HFF and they said just bring it back and we will have a look at him. They said they would replace him no problems. But if he is just blind then I want him to live in my tank and not get destroyed. I am currently trying to fix my BBA problem so please don't judge :slfg:
  9. Are you on tank water or town water? If on town water do you use a filter of some sort or literally from the hose like I could do in Howick(town water). I would not be game enough to try that
  10. Do you let the water sit for a while to allow the chlorine to disperse? Surely if the tap water got to your beneficial bacteria it would kill it all?
  11. What do you do at security, put it throught the xray machine or tell them straight up?
  12. I just could not help myself. It would have felt like cheating if I said nothing. :slfg:
  13. http://www.octopusstudios.com/ordering.htm 4200 Euro plus VAT/GST 1000 Euro for postage to Australia Imagine the size tank you could build for NZD$10000
  14. My school of Tiger Barbs are called just that My pair of Striata Loaches are called just that My MTS are all named "Snail Face" My Bristlenose is named Burt aka Burtie. I think I have given her a complex by giving her a boys name. She received the name when she was very small so not my fault. :slfg: I had a Rainbow Shark called Sharkie but had to give him up.
  15. You are not allowed to take liquid over 100mm on international flights. Not sure about domestic. Just give the airline a quick call. You wouldn't want to get to checkin and find out that you can't
