  1. What mts though, massive tank syndrome or multiple tank syndrome? Also to op that is a good deal there, well done rabid for being very generous in the hobby.
  2. :gpo2: I agree with that, get as big as you can afford, you will not regret it, only regret not getting a bigger tank. But alot of what sized tank you get depends on what you want to keep.
  3. Sounds like it might work, but i would be worried about stones flicking up off the road on the drive and chipping or cracking the tank. So would suggest you use something around the tank (bit of polystyrene/old bit of ply/something else) as a precautionary measure just in case.
  4. In terms of stocking if you could tell us the exact dimensions of the pond it would help a bit (width, length and depth). Other then that I like a large school of mountain minows in a pond, I think they look god and if you feed them lots they make a nice difference to the normal goldfish, but I am not sure if they would be suitable for an outside pond in Christchurch.
  5. The answer for that is simple, do stuff with your fish tank/spend it all staring at and watching your fish.
  6. Welocme, and good luck sorting out the problems with your pond.
  7. The only thing I can think about for the ammonia is that you didnt add enough prime, and the chlorine killed the some of your bio filter, causing the ammonia spike.
  8. You could bring some water into a fish shop so they can test/check it for you. the ammonia readings arent good, and I would dose with 'stability' or similar just to be on the safe side.
  9. That is a nice article for once, all the 'jaws' media annoys me as the are such an amazing animal.
  10. I know, but me and dad are the only ones in the family that eat it as my sister and brother think 'it looks disgusting' and refuse to try it. (and mum is vegetarian).
  11. Wow, that sucks, I feel sorry for you. I think that happening is the worst nightmare for most people on this forum.
  12. Welcome to the forum, you might find a bearded dragon easier if you posted an add in the 'wanted to buy' section, other then that I wish you the best of luck.
  13. I noticed most of them, and resisted the urge to comment on them, but managed to miss this one.
  14. Never tasted horse meat, but now I have to find some for sale to see if you are right. So does cow tongue.
  15. haha, woops, didnt notice randomsam had bumped it.
  16. I love all meat, and that venison does look very tasty.
  17. They do alot of hiding, just dont disturb it and eventually it will get more comfortable in your tank, and it will become more active. I have also found they are more active after lights out to.
  18. Nice fish, they are tempting me to get into keeping Siamese fighters....
  19. My bristle nose ate the cory eggs when they spawned, but once they hatched the fry never got eaten by the bristle noses
  20. haha, I shall remember that for next time they breed. No sorry, I have planned to get GT for as long time, and like them very much.
  21. Working. Just working all weekend, good news is I get time and a half some days.
  22. They were schooling nicely with the mum, then I went away for the weekend and when I got back I couldn't see any, so they may have been eaten or in a few months time I may see some small GT's start to a pair, I live in hope.
  23. That looks cool, like something I would want for if i ever get a large tank. Does it sore data about the ph/temp so that you can graph it against time, as that is something I am always interested in looking at but can not get enough readings to do it manually. Also how water proof is the casing?
  24. I find that my SAE will eat the little growing stuff, so stop it spreading/getting larger patches, but they dont eat the larger bits of it. If that makes sense...
