Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but Steve Tyree has written a book on keeping a skimmer less tank. He rely's on natural sponges, sea squirts etc to filter the water. He has had good success doing this. Brendan

For everyone who believes this "iron" theory about zeovit. I will supply free of charge (Except postage) a bottle of iron concentrate from the zeovit company. The person will have to agree to use this bottle to prove their theory by taking photo's before and after using the iron supplyment. Please don't PM me but contact me direct via this thread. RNB could be a good candidate but I am sure there are a few others that will do it. I have seen the Tunze zeolite and they only use one type of rock were zeovit has 3 different types. Try not to say it is the same stuff as it is not . And Tunze is more expensive. I suppose this zeovit tank is pretty ordinary as well http://216.55.183.207/forums/showthread.php?t=2341 Brendan

Coral loss's ??? The other zeolites are not the same as zeovit, maybe thats why you have had coral deaths. Try not to put the other products in the same catorgary as zeovit please. How would you like it if i compared salifert test kits to say hagen test kits ? Or deltec to red sea ? Brendan

Thanks Pies, . As you said, Softies do come from the same conditions in the wild. ( As you and I have seen in Fiji while diving) Softies do not have a seperate ocean from the other corals with more nutrients in it. It's up to Duke if he wants to try the system. With a 400 litre tank it's not going to bother me which method he tries. Its not a major sell for me. Brendan

Layton, When you bought your zeovit, maybe you should have bought it from the official zeovit supplier here in NZ. That way I could have supported you and you might not of had the problems with the zeostart. Sorry, had to say this, you will probably know why. I don't want people getting the wrong ideas. Alois, ask michael kramer about the difference in my coral colours, he was there to witness it and he is a honest bloke. I have had my system 2000 wave maker for 6 years with no problems. Brendan
