    OScars Breeding

have nt heard anyone in NZ evr bred Osars succesfully so far yet. I had a friend whose Oscars lay eggs regularly but nver got hatched. I rekcon the male dose not like fertilizing in small water area.
  3. suncats look coolcool.. are these all your stock
  4. exact... what abt Texas? I am thinking of adding a Texas in but not sure which tanks it shud go in.. 570L festae, Red devil and Jag tank, each of them is around 20cm+ or so, or the 350L Uaru tank, Texas is around 15cm too.
  5. he is busy doing something else. I will get it first then exchange his house with it. :slfg: Hi David, as I rememberd you mixed your group with your festae before. wud that work. Obviously I am not adding Urau in with them but considering a Urau and Texas tank. what do you think.
  6. still too young. got a long way to go. haha. they are abt 15cm from head to tail. tank is 350L. I realize they love munching the wood. I will be interested at getting a Texas of Trademe now. dont know if they will get along. it is very hard to see any texas on Trademe nowadays dont want to miss out. there is no room in my bigger tank it s kinda packed atm with nasties
  7. currently got a pair off trade me. and kept them in there only tank atm. but looked into the tank, there are only fish in there very empty. thinking to get some Tbars to mix with but cud not get any :dunno:
  8. I ment Severum can hold them selves well, they fight back, not bullie and run fast. dose Urau alike severum in this way
  9. to those who kept or keeping Urau in their experience. what kind of temperament dose Urau have? do you mix them with other A.cichlids in your experience, like Texas, Jags etc. will they be good enough to hold themselves against nasty fishes like Severum. I think they are related to Severum by looking but do they have Severum's characters? please advise if you know.

    hybrids...

nice and clear topic with full instruction before junk and intruders take in place. +1 :sage: I will be the positive side to the point. its the nature of Cichlid world especially when comes to smaller waters. I am not fancy abt hybrid but I wont say no.
  11. no worries, Jag is ruling the tank but wish Festae can be tough a little bit. I am going to take the female Jag out soon.
  12. they are fine. Just got her back and introduced into the tank. that is a hongi greeting from my host big Jag. they are all pretty calm now.
  13. it is my plan, still waiting for my boy to grow up a bit. he is now 20cm but the female is 26cm.. I will keep you in mind if I get frys
  14. a pair of jags, a male festae (my female festae is coming back soon). seperated my Midas in the other tank. basically , 5 fish going to be in there.
  15. sounds Ok as they are not those very badass kinds but do provide plenty shelters
  16. hah not now. I will stay on A. cichlid for now.
  17. from petstop and they aint cheep..
  18. thanks bro, appreciated for your contribution too  I probably grab the monster one later soon. A.Cich is my only choice and ever but will consider some Frontasa some day.
  19. post here again for people to add comments welcome.
  20. I saw HFF has some more in stock the other day. I dont think they are some kind of hybrid coz they become ongoing supplement
  21. Definitely NOT imo. they were imported as flower horns but with Midas/rd features. the differences from locally breed Midas are they turned into orangish colour when they get to big size and with black marks, when the local breed ones are red/orange with white marks which I will consider as Vitiligo Symptom, as well as getting less chance of growing as big forehead as local ones. I had one before and have been told they are fhs, when bought, it was about 12cm but still in original birth-marks ( grey/brown shedded stripes)
  22. nice fern in there man. :slfg: give half to me to take care. so we can save 50% each to minimize your lost :sml1:
