from myexperience of keeping Texas, they are quite rough when young or semi- adult and like to pick on smaller ones when they are huge, they are more likely becoming the targets.

I had both my Jag pair and Midas pair with frys on each ends of tank, jags were not as rough as Midas pair but enough to hold themselves. I have had a pair of Texas before as well, male around 25cm, female is only 12cm they are sucks, I have to move them into other tank other they get killed even when they were guarding the frys

Texas and Jag cant do nuthing. they are more toward to the easy end of aggression in the line. but defintely not FH and Midas, they cant tolerat anything in the tank even an aro or pleco !!!

jiust wait for them to settle. that might take a little time. just give them a go for a month to see what happens then.

dont take them until the eggs grow small tails on them.

love my convicts, I hav had mine for over last 3 years. two males turned out big strong stunning looking with popped up forehead. and they neva have any issues with bigger cichlids. they can simply stand out and fight back which shows great character. Unfortunity, both died a few month ago.. but still have the female.

just update my current set up of 350L with Uraus, tiger and Ally's Palmas Bichir photos are ruined from reflection :facepalm:

you only keep two fish in 900L, what a waste, man. get some big guys in there...Devils, Horns, etc

40cm female wonderring how big is your male?? my female is only abt 15cm look like a dwarf compare with yours.
