Hey just seeing this thread and when in taupo I saw a slightly blue koura. He was bout 7cm long a slightly blue tinge when I bought him out. Also found a massive pair of blue pinsirs I know I have pics here somewhere. I am going up this weekend and will keep an eye out. For you. Just my 2 cents

I'm pretty sure there are 12% UVB bulbs if that helps.

Have you ever had any success with plants in tanks? If so what plants? Cheers I got my turtle some hot house turtle food. He loves it!

Huh fair enough they had 3 30cm+ turtles in like a 90L tank! Was going o give them a huge lecture but we had to go :-?

UV isn't necessary but in a canister filter It may kill your beneficial bacteria. On the otherhand if you have a big disease in your tank a UV LIGHT may kill some o the disease not alot of a disease though. So pretty much it isn't necessary. Good luck

Yeah you can you can use silicone specifically for fish tanks or I use selleys wet area silicone. Good luck!

Well today was bad for me. When I had cleaned the filter yesterday aparantly there was some sand on the o ring... Woke up this morning to 50L of water on the floor... Lucky me

Oh wow that looks painful he's had some suction cups in there for a while but he never plays with them. Have you had any success with any fish? I have danios and neons in there ATM. He has got a nice peice of driftwood in there but I had to cut it down a little because it was taking up too much swimming space. Will post some pics in a minute.

Today I did a 70% water change on my 200L. Cleaned the filter. Took put 25L of sand rinsed washed and cleaned. Re applied background because it was getting bubbles. Cleaned ornaments and a little algae. Will take pictures tomorrow. Was at uncles house tonight. He used to have a beautiful marine tank bout 300L. He moved it to his work and ended frying the whole tank because something short circuited! He was not happy!

Saw an albino bitchir(I think) at Pet essentials in the Hutt. Was pretty cool. Was $85 which I though was pretty sweet too.

Nooo He loves the sand. He's got a 200L ATM nice 700L filter just bought a new UVB tube bought a month ago. One side of the tanks a little dull I guess it could use some more lighting. He's got some driftwood that he can hide under and can et on top and bask. He also has a glass platform where he can bask. He loves to play with his golf ball. Likes to push it round till it gets stuck in the corner. Then you have to Pull it out. Any more suggestions? Thanks

Hi Today I have sold an old filter and would like to "do up" my turtle tank. Any suggestions? Ie fish ornaments ect. Tell me what your turtle likes! Thanks Matt
