its definetly not silica sand that i have and i always was my sand before use of course but this one was washed for atleast half hour and put in but still always clouds up so must breakdown in the tank.do u recommend an extra power head smidey my tanks 120 60 60 have a 1200 l/h already but will get a 2400 l/h off tm?

i thought fin rot was in cold water fish not tropical?never experienced fin rot with tropicals but with goldfish whats your temp at? -
ive just got water flowing in from one filter no spray bar on it and on the other i have a spray bar pointed down at the water and a 1200/lh powerhead but i will get a wave maker fro mine this week i also just realised my mechanical wasnt very good didnt have any wool stuff so i put in some i think that should help it out.cheers for your help smidey what length is your tank

its not cycling as i have used my old water my old filter with media and the sand which is supposed to be silica but its not whites a grey and stirs up way to easy should i replace the sand with something else because it goes super cloudy.should i up my circulation?

cool cheers smidey i was hoping youd comment on yours as i know tangs eat alot.i think its my sand that i have every time i stirr it up it clouds my tank and takes a long time to settle and when it does its not fully settled

a few days mate. i think ill chuck on a uv steriliser to help it along i used 65% of my original water and the rest freshwater

i am currently running a brand new sun sun hw 302 1000/lh and a jebo 815 rated at 900l/h this is sufficient or not?i thought it would be enough but from the side of my tank its not crystal clear its kinda hazy with the floating particles any help please

i must admit its nice looking but i cant paint the tank as its already set up so just wanted maybe a rocky type background or something nice tanks btw sophia :nfs:

i have no background on my tank that i just recently got.thanks to gill for the tank.i have tried putting on a background just a blue one but is super dark is this because of the depth or width maybe i have made up a poly background but i know it will turn out like crap so any suggestions have always had black backgrounds.maybe its my lighting to 3 foot lights one marine blue aqua one and a dymax tropical 30 watts any comments will be great

and they have those big plecs in that small tank.i picked up one of those r790s from hollywood albany a year ago for 69 dollars an absolute bargain and only kept small fry in nothing over 8cm and they have severums etc geez

my female bred yesterday in my community tank and just wondering why she would have swalloed them this is her first time breeding but did all the right things just curious as to what may have made her swallow them any theorys would be great cheers

but why another filter i dont have filtration problems i was just wanting to see if there where any good benefits for using a wave maker?

ive already got a powerhead of 1200 l/h but i was going to buy one off trademe and its 5000l/h i thought that would be overkill in a 4 foot tank?
