  1. Went to Mitre 10 Mega today ... got everything for the pond. Went to Animates and got plants and two fantails. One blue/silver and one chocolate. Am hoping for lots of rain tomorrow so it will fill up the pond. My new babies are spending tonight in the 15L tank. I siphoned some water from my 64L into the 15L. I was going to put them with the minnows and guppies but the chocolate one is pretty big and I think it wouldn't have much trouble eating the minnows and guppies lol I noticed in the car on the way home that the chocy one has some scales (about 6 total) that have lost their color or something. Should I be worried?
  2. LOL It's called Man Flu because only men get it LOL Ever heard of a man surviving childbirth? :sml1:
  3. I had a look at the Prime and it seems like it does the same thing as Stress Coat and Stress Zyme... so basically it's an all in one treatment. ? I have huge bottles of Stress Coat and Zyme so they should last a while.... I had water ager from Animates in Henderson (Masterpet brand). Not sure why they don't sell it at the Takanini Animates. At least I know I can get it from the supermarket now lol
  4. What's prime? Haven't heard of it.
  5. Bikbok I had a look on the Countdown website and the Woolworths one... I searched for Water Ager and nothing came up :dunno: Will have to have a look when we go shopping tomorrow. Hubby got some Stress Coat and Stress Zyme on the way home.
  6. Yeah I was thinking about putting my bucket outside to collect rain water lol but it's not raining! I am praying it will pour down haha I had an idea to get the 15L from my little empty tank (has no fish but has water) so now I have about 45L in there. Hubby is going to get some water ager on his way home from work. Unfortunately I only have eftpos so I can't order from HFF But hubby will be home in about 3 1/2- 4 hours. I think the fish will be ok until then. Yes chicken pox is not fun. Especially during the school holidays. She wants to stay at her great grandmas at Kawakawa Bay but can't.
  7. Anyone here live in Papakura? Where can I get Water Ager from? We have no blimmen pet shop here (closest is Takanini) and The Warehouse doesn't stock it even though it's on their website. :an!gry Where the heck can I get it from IN Papakura? I realised I had forgotten to get some more when I was cleaning the tank and I was going to see if my father in law could go and get me some, but don't want to ask him to bike all the way to Takanini, even though he does it already. Sheesh. I know it's not far away but for someone that doesn't drive and is sick and has a child with Chicken pox, so I can't go anywhere, it is a big deal. GRRR Hubby is going to stop at Animates on his way home from work tonight. In the meantime my fish are swimming in about 20-30L of water LOL I did a major clean because there was lots of food in there not eaten and the water was pretty dirty looking. And I can't turn the filter back on as there isn't enough water in there. Only had enough water ager left to add 10L of water to the tank.
  8. Hmmm maybe I should stick to a different type of goldfish. :dunno:
  9. Hmmm somewhere on the net I read that Fantail goldfish are hardy good beginner goldfish. :-?
  10. Yeah I had a look at the HFF stock. I found this website yesterday.... http://www.stoneworld.co.nz/wawcs0112244/Designstone-Pebble.html I just love their moondance and snowstone pebbles as well as the colored glass ones.
  11. LOL I have to say I thought I was a pretty relaxed pregnant woman both times. Though the hormones do get to you now and again... esp. near the end when you just want the baby out lol
  12. I will. I've already got it all planned out LOL I want a white bottom so it's easy to see the fish, as opposed to black or blue. So I was going to go with silica sand. Of course it will be lined with pond liner. Then I was going to get some glass pebbles. WDYT? I know the silica sand will not stay white but I think it will still look ok. I'm going to have some water lillies and hopefully some kind of water feature and a bridge... or I will use a good strong plank of wood for the bridge that can be removed (so just there to use if you want to walk across it). I had a look on Trade Me for bridges but they are $290.. .don't think hubby will agree to get one lol As for the fantail goldfish. I am in love  with the blue/silver ones. But I will probably get 1 or 2 orange ones too I don't want to overstock but the pond is going to be over 330L so I think 3-4 will be fine. :happy2:
  13. There is one advantage to being a man (unless you're a stay at home father!). At least when you are sick you don't have to look after the kids too. Thursday morning Sophie was throwing up and I had Tonsillitis at the same time UGH Not a nice situation. What I would give to just go to bed when I'm sick. It's even ten times worse when you not only have to look after the kids but when they are sick too. Oh and there is no one to look after you too, because hubby is at work. Whereas if hubby is home, he gets looked after by wifee.
  14. What do you mean YOU put up with it? LOL jk ... I know how grumpy I can be when I have mine. Men are pretty lucky though.... you don't have to deal personally with PMS, having babies, being pregnant, menopause etc.... I've told my hubby a few times I wish I was a man. LOL
  15. :rotf: I tell my husband he is sickly... he is always getting sick. I rarely ever get sick. The kids seem to both have taken after their father  Though I felt pretty guilty recently when I had Tonsillitis a few weeks after hubby had it because I didn't really look after him that well. Then when he came home and I was so crook I couldn't even get off the couch and hadn't done the dishes or laundry he sent me to bed and did the dishes and laundry for me  So when he was sick on Saturday (throwing up) I made sure to take care of him.
  16. Really?! I have live plants in my tank. Only had it for about 5 weeks though. I'm really excited about my pond. I worked out it shouldn't cost much more than what it's cost me so far for my tank and everything else I've bought to go with it inc the fish. Hopefully this weekend I'll be .... :digH: not that I have to dig anything. :happy2: So fingers crossed it doesn't rain on Saturday at least. It can rain all it wants on Sunday because it will help fill up the pond LOL
  17. Awesome :happy2: I may get one anyway, seeing as they don't seem very expensive at all.
  18. Yeah I have been told HFF is cheaper. I hinted to my hubby to go there on Monday but he didn't want to.
  19. OMG lol I'm so away with the fairies.... don't need a heater for the minnows lol But I would need a heater for the 64L tank.
  20. Thanks for that. I'll keep an eye out. My 64L was only $80 but it doesn't have a light and didn't come with a filter lol It was just the glass tank with lid. I know what you're talking about. They are neat little tanks with the filter and light inc. So all I would have to get is the heater.
  21. I don't think I could. I would feel bad. I only got 5 of them on Monday. Before that I just had 1. Not the end of the world! One day I will get another tank.
