Lol.... but these were my "special" babies..... I can't figure out who would have eaten them though..... I guess it was probably one of the yoyo loaches, the weird thing is that there is a couple of random wee tetra in there that would be no bigger than the killies yet no one has eaten them!!!!!

Okay, so tonight I pretty much rearranged all the wood and stones in the tank, and not a sign of the wee babies..... so I guess I did send them to their death after all...... I'm a bad bad fish mummy!!!!!! :tears:

Sounds awesome Sophia...... still no sign of my babies since the last sighting, did dream about them last night though lol I'm hoping they are just hiding out somewhere until they are bigger... I hope I didn't didn't do the wrong thing putting them in the main tank :tears:

Hehe, they might be.... if I ever see them again lol I think I've seen them once since the last time I posted!!!!! I'm guessing they have probably just found themselves somewhere nice to hang out and hide until they are feeling braver (I hope) Everyone is a bit mad with me at the moment though I think because I've only been feeding every second day as I noticed they weren't doing their housework and the tank is looking pretty yuck (partly my fault for overfeeding probably) I think its working though, because I see everyone more as they forage around the tank for scraps..... they seem more active too. I'm thinking of doing a little rearranging next week as I have the week off and I need to do a bit of a shuffle with the plants as some anonymous fish keeps digging down in the corners and unrooting the plants in those areas, so I am hoping that I will see the 2 babies when I do that, fingers crossed anyway. Ethan, I'm going out to Howick sometime over the weekend to pick up the black widows from Allister and Snivy if transport is an issue for you

How big is the tank you want to use it in Ethan, I have some left over that you can have. About half a bag of the fine sand from Mitre 10 and around the same of builders mix from Bunnings.

Well I did it, I put them in the big tank on Monday night..... checked them Tuesday morning and they were both hanging out at in one the corners at the top of the tank. Checked Tues after work and theres only one hanging out there, then Wed morning theres none, and I can't see them anywhere..... of course heres me thinking I've sent the poor little guys to their death!!!! I rearranged the xmas moss and lo and behold one of them comes flying out of it, the other is nowhere to be seen still though. Then tonight at feeding time, I see both of them hanging out waiting to be fed..... so yay!!!!! And they don't look as teeny tiny as I thought they would..... woohoo my babies are growing up!!!!! :bounce:

At the moment they are just in a wee 30 litre tank on their own..... all the other fish which are tetra, Bristlenoses, peppered corys, panda corys, an SAE, Yoyo loaches and the clown loaches are in the tank I just set up so I would be putting them in there. Theres no one agressive in there and they are as big as a couple of the tetra now..... but I would really hate anything to happen to them ater watching them grow.... having said that would keeping them too long in the small tank stunt their growth at all?

Too cool, thanks Sophia..... so they are around 3cm long now.... how big do you think they should be before I can put them into the main tank with everyone else? I don't have anyone in there that would see them as food, but they might get lost in such a big tank..... oh maybe I'll keep them on their own for a little bit longer.....

I have a funny feeling they are both developing the stripe..... they are still so cute though, so cool watching them grow and develop their colours etc..... thank you so much for my random mystery fry Sophia :bounce:

They are definitely killies, the spots have gotten more prominent just in the couple of days I've been away.... so cute and friendly too..... and cool watching them grow :love:

I was thinking of getting killies anyway to add some colour to the tank, so I guess it was fate :bounce:

They're still too small to get a decent one I'll put a light over them tomorrow and see if I can get one of them

Nawww, thanks Joefish....... yeah, I'll fill it more when I do the next water change I think...... The substrate is just fine sand from Mitre10, in the gardening section. Waters looking a little cloudy tonight so I am thinking maybe it is starting to cycle now

I'll have a go at posting the video tonight, now that our broadband is back to regular speed, should be easy..... they kinda backed away a bit when they saw me, but didn't stop them fighting lol.... it was a major mission catching the wee girl to put her in though.... at least the boys have their regular hidey holes so I knew exactly where to find them, I had to go hunting for her, wound up picking up the whole clown loach cave and having a look under that, thought there was no one under it next thing I hear plop plop into the water..... a couple of clowns making a run for it lol...... finally caught her hanging out under the old car wreck with an SAE who wasn't too happy with me picking up his hide out..... they are all such characters.......

Thanks Anthony, I'm pretty happy with it considering it is the first real setup I've done.... no doubt I will have a bit of tweaking to do here and there before I am satisfied with it...... not all the plants will be staying in it either, when I set up the Clowns tank some of them will be going in there....... I just moved the other 2 BNs over and the boys have have a big dust up already, (yes Dennis I got a video this time) I'm guessing over who wants what hidey hole, but theres plenty for places for each of them now so they should be sweet.....

P44, yes it is... I did wonder how to plant it properly, I seperated a lot of it but was worried about damaging the roots.... was also thinking about moving it more towards the back since it is so tall in my tank lol...... also yes, the thing with the wood, I was thinking of moving it more to the left after reading about the whole symmetry thing. Should I be using the Sera fert drops now? Sophia, yes, theres some balansae on the left and another type of crypt I think. The stone has a purpose at the moment lol, its holding down a piece of wood that wouldn't sink when I put it in hehe..... I'm planning on getting some more stones eventually, theres some on TradeMe that I'm watching....... I maxed out my Black Widows and now have 8 of them, so I think eventually I will get rid of the glowlights and x-rays which I think cliffy wants so I will only have the once school of tetra in there....... Looks like I might be doing some more tank scaping hehe

Thanks Joefish, yeah I kinda messed up with my lighting, I have a 39w double T5HO which I was going to use for the bigger tank because its deeper than this one, but I might try it on this tank for a while. The tank has changed a little since those pics so I should probably put up some new pics... might try tonight
