Or theres Ember Tetra which are itty bitty too Sophia, and I have 3 of them that were sold to me as Glowlights (they are definitely not glowlights) that you can have if you want them Oops, edited just to add that I just read Adriennes post about the Embers not being much better, so maybe not lol.... but you are still welcome to give them a try
  2. Awesome, thanks Sophia.... I haven't been to see anyones tanks yet so that would be awesome..... I'll let you know when I'm heading out those ways next :bounce:
  3. Thanks Sophia.... I was out there the other day so might make another trip next week maybe, still hadn't really decided exactly what I was going to do at that stage.... but now I have a plan hehe..... though I should really be keeping better track of my spending lol, but this is too much fun!
  4. So today I am cleaning out the tank and arranging the hardscape lol..... plantwise I am looking at lots of crypts mainly with some indian fern, moss, riccia, dwarf hairgrass and I'm thinking maybe some green pine..... suggestions are welcome of course..... if anyone has any crypts for sale can you let me know, theres nothing on trade me at the moment, though I did buy 2 red wendtii the other day so these will be first in
  5. I loved mine too..... I miss him :tears:

I'm glad its not just me then..... next time I might try taking them during the day, see if it makes any difference at all
  9. Conference would be great Caryl.... unfortunately at this stage it would have to depend on whether or not I have found employment by then (god I hope so) but if I have, then definitely will be there. I've just bought a copy of the killii book too.....yay!!!!
  10. Funny you should mention the NZKA Zev, I've just pm'd Wok about joining.... and as of this week I am also an official member of the Auckland fishkeepers club.... so I guess it's now official.... I'm hooked.... it's like Hotel California really.... you can check out anytime you like-but you can never leave lol :happy2:

They kinda looked like spawning, but I don't think anything eventuated...... I'm pretty sure even if they did, the loaches would have made a nice meal of any eggs...... Probably a good thing about the photos lol.... at least you can't really see the brown "gunk" that I can't shake..... I think I should have got the next size up filter ugh

Thanks Zev..... doesn't help I guess that it's just a cheapo digital camera.... but I must have had the shakes or something too because I couldn't seem to get a clear shot..... lol So todays plan so far is to visit valray to pick up co2 & some plants and discuss 3 spot gourami's lol and I'm off to Hollywood...... yay!!!!! :happy1:

Okay, I'm talking to myself lol..... but at least this way I will know what I did and when haha...... Sooooooo...... dear diary lol...... So renovating of existing tank is done..... not sure I will ever get the hang of planting but oh well lol.... starting today with Sera daily drops and tomorrow I pick up DIY CO2 kit that I bought on TMe from valray. Yoyos are loving the new setup, racing in and out and around the driftwood arrangement like its a playground and the BNs are climbing over it like a jungle gym, so I think that means they are happy. Next project is the Blueplanet Classic 50 in my bedroom.... I'm gonna move the pandas into it, the 3 little random Ember (I think) tetra and then depending on how things go I think maybe some Killies, but all depends on finances obviously at the moment. I'm thinking crypts for the plants as I am guessing the light probably isn't great in the tank (and I love crypts). I don't know how impressed the pandas will be about moving to a smaller tank though as they love racing up and down the length of the tank they are in now, but if they get too unhappy I can always move them back. Since my SAE commited hari kari over the back of the tank I now have 3 Chinese Algae eaters which seem quite happy together at the moment because they are tiny, but can be moved out/moved on/separated as they grow.... and 2 rainbow sharks for which the same applies as the CAE's.... Tank definitely needs more colourful fish in it though!!!!!!!
  19. Thanks all, I remembered Henward had silica sand and was trying to find pics but couldn't find them lol.....
  20. Cool, thanks David.... I kinda like the idea of the white against the dark background too and maybe the lighter sunstrate will enhance the clowns colours too? What a shame about having to upgrade the tank in a few years though hehe...... :happy1:
  21. Yes or no? I can't decide....... :dunno: Primarily setting it up for my Clown Loaches...... still undecided on eventual tank mates......

So today I have pretty much torn the tank apart lol...... pulled out all the plants, removed some of the sand and taken all the driftwood and rocks out, apart from a couple that I have left in temporarily for the guys that like to hide...... the tank is all cloudy at the moment as I have done a 50% water change also...... but once it settles I will replant and redecorate. No one seems to be too upset about the disturbance at the moment, so I guess thats a good sign...... :dunno:
  23. I think it may be Affinis Sophia, don't quote me on that though....
  24. I'm hoping to avoid the benefit too..... i have an interview on Monday with NZ Homeloans...... so fingers crossed everyone please!!
