No just did 1 ml of solution 3 . Add with 2 ml syringe 2 ml of water in the test vial. For a low resolution and more tests per kit add 1 ml instead of 2 ml. Add 1 spoon of Ca-1 (low resolution approx. 1/2 spoon) do not swirl yet. Add 8 drops of Ca-2 to the water in the test vial. and swirl gently for 10 seconds. For low resolution 4 instead of 8 drops. Put the plastic tip firmly on the 1 ml syringe. And draw into the syringe the Ca-3 reagent (ensure that the end of the plastic tip is constantly submersed in the Ca-3 reagent) till the lower end of the black part of the pistion is exactly at the 1.00 ml mark. There will be air present just below the piston. This is the air which was present between the end of the plactic tip and the piston. This will not influence the test result. Add dropwise with the 1 ml syringe the Ca-3 reagent to the water in the test tube. Swirl after each drop a second or continue with this until color changes from pink-red to a clear blue color. Hold the syringe with the tip facing upward and read the position of the , now the upper end, of the black part of the piston. The syringe has graduations of 0.01 ml. Read the Calcium value from the table or calculate as follows.

I have just got a Salifert Calcium test kit and when I do the test I am supposed to drip reaction agent in which will change test liquid from pinky colour to blue ,I drip in all 1mill but no change which means calcium is over 500 parts .Do you thjink this is faulty test kit or my calcium is over 500? to add calcum I was adding heaped teaspoon of Seacem calcium adative powder every second day , since I got test kit five weeks ago I have only added 2 spoons of calcium and still test result the same. I do add kalkwisser solution constantly by drip to compensate for evaporation.

good or bad ? I have something simular on a acapora its attached to base and has open end but have not seen anything protruding from opening. but corale gets lots of like spider web in clumps on it above this.

Installed moon light bought a spot light with blue diodes in it (12v) but the beam was too concentrated (looked like beam me up Scotty) so broke glass spot light part and installed in some pvc pipe came out a lot better. still need to put timer on I was thinking just a couple of hours .come on before main lights go off and stay on for two hours.

920 L tank top up water run thru resin into 20 litre container driped into tank constantly to maintain level and Kalkwiser added two teaspoons every week into top up container . one litre of Zeolites in reactor which I plung twice a day as I walk by. 4 drops of Zeo(bateria) every three days was each day when added zeolites for first week. 4 drops of zeo (food?) same days as bacteria. 4-5 drops of phol's orall vitalizer each day. 10 drops of zeo start most days. I have no calcium reactor so seachem calcium one large teaspoon every second day. water change I've been slack recently but about 10% every 6-10 weeks with NSW. Carbon have two small bags in sump change one bag every 6-10 weeks. add reef roids small amount every 2 weeks at night. clean skimmer cup every second day.(old aquamedic powered with ehiem 1060).

Mine has been over overflow a few times now ( had it about 9 -12 m) but I have had 2 previously over last ten years and never seen this behavour before.

Strange behavior sometimes my Mandarin swims around all on the top of the water this goes on all night next day back to normal and cruising over rocks, does anyone else have this behavior

I had one (elephants ear ) ate two fish got the second one out by ripping the elephants ear open but fish died next day (lawnmower blenny) after that got rid of it .

Regal angel will only eat mysis plus constant grazing on algae I've tied pellit and other food but only clowns eat this.

how about a survey on how much food what type size of tank and load I have 920 L 5 fish (3 medium 2 small) I feed two blocks off mysis per day at one time and roids once every week or fortnight.

good idea is to use a couple of filter plates or plasic roofing tie wood to this with fishing line and bury plate under gravel used to work for me.

you just see feelers sticking up from behind a rock were as the cleaner shrimps are all over the tank

I have coral banded and has not done any damage , I have two cleaner shrimps and manderin and they are left alone .I might worry if i had some real tiny fish but for medium size mines fine.

I ve been lazy and since my new tank running about 4 water changes of about 60 L on a 920 L tank ,strang thing is my tank is going better than ever (touch wood) on my last tank of 400 L did 10% every 2 weeks . This tank is just going so much better and with hardly any water changes.

How about doing a u bend with air hole to stop siphoning.

Seio and stream for water movment Laguna 7 for return from remote sump. add calcium, magnesium Kalkwiser ,amino acids. some zeovit products . 5 fish (regal angel . yellow tang, manderin, 2 x blue line clowns) 3 shrimps (coral banded ,2 x cleaner shrimp)
