yes it was warm.... it was the air or little air that got me and no food for 3 weeks. when they come in they come in bags that are not much bigger than them so they dont have much air or water

if they think your tanks are small they cant no much about fighter..... they live in puddles in the wild, and alot of people eg breeders and importers keep them in jam jars , fighters like small places . and i think your set up looks like one of the best and nicests ones around so if someone wants to throw stones they should get there facts right first

welcome Bas had a look at your web site , you have a lovely set up and some lovely fish!! do you enter lots of shows ? we dont have many shows over here ...its normaly twice a year and thats tank comps, our club use to do best fish every month but most of our members didnt want to bring there show fish as they cost to much. look forward to seeing you round
  12. welcome Colin cant wait to hear if you breed any of your fish.... you will see that there are more kinds of fish around since when you keeped them, the importers bring in about 5 different kinds of fish a year that have never been in nz before. enjoy this forum its great 8)

NOT HAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its barley straw!!! you use ...it works great !!!!!! you can buy it in a bottle and that works great because you dont have a big lot of straw in your tank.
  17. very well done!!!!!!!! its great that you have info on the fish 8)
  18. nothing will ever replace the redtail catfish!!!
  19. its easy to tell the differences with Ambulia and cabomba pic 1 and 2 are Ambulia and 3 and 4 are guess what cabomba. ok how you tell..... Ambulia is light green and on the stalk you have the leaves coming out all the way round it, it likes moving water and doesn't do well when you don't have water movement. with cabomba its a dark green and you only have to leaves coming off the stalk also it doesn't like alot of moving water

  21. it works on algaes but not all algaes ... it has been round for years and years but lost of shops dont sell it, it is good but i was like you when i first read the back it stopped me from useing it. give it a go but its not ment to work on black/red algaes
  22. as alan and wok said leave it alone so how they go, they will always move if they think its not a safe place to have the babies ..... if you do turn the air pump off just put something in the chest to have it half open then they can get in.
