    driftwood

you can check the ph of the wood by putting it in a tub of water for a few weeks , test the water when you first put it in and if it goes to high after a few weeks i would leave it for a few months then put it in.

    driftwood

some of the best bits of wood are found on the beach , as it is not from the sea you can use it . waterblast it if you like , i do that when i get mine that way i get any bugs out of it.

    trying to find

if you feed your kids candie they will not eat the veges you put in front of them so feed the fish up then be strong and dont feed him for a few days then feed him dry food , if he doesnt eat it take it out , then wait a day or two then try again.... he can go for weeks without food if he is a big one. if this doesnt work let me no i have more idears
  9. this tuesday's meeting!!!!!!!!Our guest speaker will be Alan Wakelin, aka ALAN Alan is a back yard breeder from Whakatane. Alan breeds all kinds of fish, but Killifish are his passion. Alan has a lot of tanks and has a fish room that most of us would only dream of having. Alan has told me he has been keeping fish since Adam was a cowboy. If you have any questions, write them down, he is more than happy to pass on any information. if you can make it we would love to meet you it doesnt matter if you belong to another club you are always welcome to see how the other half live 8)

  18. thank you Kevin and Warren for asking me to be head judge it was great!! as i said i had a great team of judges that worked as a team and i would happily judge with anyone of you again! you all worked hard and well and at the end of a very long day the best fish won, you all need a pat on the back!! (pat pat) as that was the first show that i know of that they didn't have a protest. and as Kevin said without everyone that entered we wouldn't have had a show so THANKS! sadly one fish didn't make it Rob's dwarf loach. thanks to everyone for a great weekend and it was great meeting everyone and catching up with some old friends
  19. alan in the top fish your Jordanell floridae, alan's (cant remember his last name) ram and a gourami oh and the midas all got top marks it was a hard call on a few of them but at the end of the day we all had fun and alan if you had won best in show your head would have been to big to walk out the door  as you won so much , when we judged we didnt know whos fish they are all the tanks are done by number , i still dont no who owns over half the fish in the show
  20. yes and do you know how had it was to do  pick the best fish in show when you have over 200 fish and you have to pic the best, its hard enough to judge 6 fish and pic a winner some times
