  1. puhlease Ira, you are not acknowledging the potential... her whole forearm was covered with the rash, so do both forearms, show the boss and say you're feeling rather hot and he'll send you home in a jiffy
  2. Tank 1 (CPD) Found a plastic mesh tray in plastic shop that has gaps wide enough for eggs for smaller than the current gaps in the other box so will transplant a piece of that to the original breeding box. Tank 2 (erythromicron) Decided I didn't like big marbles in the tank as the fish swim under them and through the crevices. Got some smaller ones, put them in and there weren't enough so there were gaps and they did the same thing. Have taken them all out again until I get some more/make their room smaller/make another breeding box. Fry - still alive
  3. Mcrudd, do you work? Do you like taking sick days? That rashy allergic arm looks like a sick day whenever you want one to me.... :roey:

PUPPIESSSSSare you getting the black one? It seems you like him the best sun's out, now it's too humid :digH:
  5. No new eggs yet but I found a fry in the actual tank so put him in the net box. Over a couple of days I have seen and removed a few cloudy eggs so the rest have somehow disappeared or hatched. There are 2 of these on the bottom of the tank - will they eat eggs or are they only interested in detritus? In other news, I moved all the gravel from the far right section of the erythromicron tank to the middle sothe far right has bare bottom, then rinsed the marbles from the middle and put them in the far right section with moss and erythros.

I also did some maintenance and found that the java ferns that have always given me trouble had died again. I have officially given up on those. There is narrow or needle leaf java on the same wood that thrives too. Have been looking into getting a better light for the loach tank - found a nice compact LEO LED unit but I can't work out if the lighting is more or less than the one I've got as it didn't give a rating on the box and I can't see how it could shed more light since it's a very vertical light spread.
  7. Yes there is room in the back for a little card but there isn't one in there. I haven't transferred the photos yet, can't bring myself to take it into the shop and ask..... I am closer to buying a dongle though, just deciding whether to try a cheap one or not. I don't want to spend $50 on it, that's too much.
  8. looks like I can get some easily enough from those links no new eggs today, could be they got wise and chomped them or that I disturbed them too many times looking for eggs :digH:
  9. One more question - I was in Dick Smith today and they had a bluetooth dongle for the PC that was $55. Why was it that price when you can get them on Trademe and likely other places for $5 and under? What is it that I'm actually buying and why the great difference in price?

I have had it and it hurts but no more than any other injection. Kind of like someone poking you in the arm, or a sort of ache, for maybe 5 seconds. If you look away you'll probably only feel when they put the stuff into your arm, which is the achey bit. A wasp sting is more painful I reckon. Mcrudd I thought you said your husband was organising a real fishing trip :digH:

if you do that there will be a fight, so get there 10 mins early and sneak it to me, we'll do a briefcase swap under the table like in a spy movie... the others don't have to know.... :digH:
  12. My skills with a glue gun ARE untold, till now. It's up to you Alan, to tell everyone about it. Do you know where to get said mesh? Also won't stainless steel mesh still rust, at least eventually if not immediately? I also saw this on TM yesterday, looks like a good idea but am waiting for him to post the measurements of the gap the eggs fall through and the dimensions of the box. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=434990670&permanent=0 what about this sort of thing? http://www.discountfishingsupplies.co.nz/shop/whitebait-nets-whitebait-mesh-c-47_235.html or http://www.nettingsupplies.co.nz/materials-xidc55373.html
  13. Ah sorry, I thought you meant the shove it down the throat type.

Was it a christmas present? Library can't buy in the other copies as it's out of print. In other news I am the fish-mother of 13 CPD eggs, breeding thread updated and appropriate number of bouncing doobries added. In other other news I am now off work till the 4th :spop:
  15. EXCITING NEWS FROM THE WORLD'S NEWBIEST BREEDER!!! Just found 13 golden eggs laying on the bottom of the tank, scooped them up and put them in the moss in the net box. Have put some meth blue in the tank too - it says 1 drop per 20 litres, I put 2 drops as it's over 20 - could I have made a bluey by over-blueing it? My husband says they weren't there this morning so they must be freshly popped. Which could explain the cheeky and sneaky look the fish gave me when I went down there. At this stage I don't even care if they hatch, I'm just pleased the breeding box has worked to get the eggs done and then able to be saved.
  16. You'd probably have to put him under anaesthetic to get it in and then I don't know how it could be kept in there once he'd woken up.
  17. come on Aaron-betta, how was the pud?
