  1. At least thats what they look like to me, there are lots of them. the only possible fish would be the dwarf neon rainbowfish, I never read anything about them being layed like that, almost in a pattern. They look like insect eggs to me :-?
  2. I think it looks pretty nice just as it is now, im well jealous Ill take some of that tiger lotus off your hands if it gets too much hassle
  3. Couple of Q's for ya. Have you tried many different mixed in your reactor? Im trying a new batch today, using half brown half castor sugar and baking soda which apparently makes the mix produce CO2 for longer. Also what brand/type of yeast? Im using the tasti active dried yeast, but previously had excellet success with brewers yeast. Ill see how this new yeast and different mix goes and let you know anyways. Also, where did you get your lamp? Ive been looking around alot for one that holds the bulb horizonally rather then vertically with no success (for a cheap one anyways)

    best algae eater?

algae eater killi! I need to get some algae eaters myself, want a rare plec for the large tank and ar380 needs one too, could be a Jordanella Floridae in there one day then, fingers crossed.
  5. I know its not a fish, but I like Salamander Hollyfield
  6. There parts are all quite expensive, even having 2 bottles already, its still looking well over $100 bucks to get it all set up. Might be better off just getting a system from from the pet shop if thats the case as many people have already found. I will try a very DIY method, I have an idea of using the excisting part and a H bracket with wing nuts to regulate the output. Id then use a model aircraft needle valve to control it further and defuse in my canister filter. Will attempt it at least, as I found another 3 bottles and another complete machine.
  7. From what I gather the brew shop is a good place to start. still lots of reading to do.
  8. Ive been going through old boxes over the past few days, need room for more tanks and I found an old sodastream set. 2 co2 bottles and the working unit (i know it works there's still gas ) I know the co2 bottles are used in co2 set ups in tanks, but what about the rest of the pieces? considering it all works, and my soda drinking days are long gone (apart from rum and coke ) I think its about time I treated one of my heavily planted tanks to some co2. Will be scouring previous threads if search is working yet, but I was so delighted by my find I just had to share.
  9. hahaha I liked this, imagine the look on the persons face when reading it for the first time.
  10. Ive moved mine a bit and they have never gone bonkers. Usually a bit of aggression to start with while they resort the pecking orders. Perhaps it is water condition, how long has the new tank been set up for? has it had a chance to cycle well? What size is it and how many of each fish do you have in there?
  11. your so lucky! if it tastes good it has to be good for you, dont worry about whats in it!
  12. I can see that loop too, so the best option is to deworm with Aviverm and use Furan to treat for bacteria? And take it from there? I'll move some fish around and give these girls a tank on their own tomorrow, and look at hitting up the good ol grandmother for a loan to get the meds. Thanks for ya help will keep updating.
  13. a few months ago, so perhaps thats what has happened here.
  14. Ok here are some pics. Very hard to get one of these fish, so fast, even the one thats not really moving is still a handful for the ol cannon. Problem 1 Problem 2 I cant get them much better then that sorry I hope it helps.
  15. both the female have something suspect, one much more then the other. I hopefully will get a camera to use tonight and get some pics up to help diagnose. Problem number one: She has round bump, sticks out a little 2//3 the way down her body towards the tail, its about 2 mil in diameter, slightly reddish. Her behavior is normal, though the male is chasing her more then usual so it could be a wound he caused. Its not fuzzy, nor does it have any growth on it, it looks more like its under the scales. Pic will help this one, but only 50/50% chance Ill get a camera to use tonight. I havnt found anything like it on the net but Im not too sure what im searching for exactly. Problem number two: This girl is a little fat, nothing like bloat or over feeding, she kinda looks like shes holding. Problem is shes hiding well away from the other fish, and is breathing heavily. Its not like these guys to be sitting around alot, well at least not in my experience. They're usually very active. I give this tank 2 x 10% water p/w and have given extra 5% yesterday and today. Tempreture is 26 and plenty of airation. Water conditions are fine tank is well established. Tank mates are bolivian ram pair, female fighter and whiptail, none of which even look twice at the rainbows and never have. I'll work on getting some pics up soon, I wanted to get about another 5 of these, they're really awesome fish so any advice will be greatly appriciated. Thanks Matt
