so far the 13 goldfish have survived for the past 9 months so i was hoping maybe some more fish to go in there ?

yeah but what ? are bullies fast ? will eels be ok or would they try to eat the goldfish ? what else is there ? those freshwater crays ? would they go ok in there or are likely to kill everything ?

what native fish etc can i put in my pond to go with red eared sliders, and goldfish ?

thats just fricken crazy !!! not surprised the tank has a leak - that oscar probably caused it by not being able to swim

is there a huge difference in color for a black and brown ? - i thought i bought a Black Ghost Knife but now i know there are 2 different colors im thinking that its a brown

So last night i was cleaning my tanks and wasnt paying too much attention to the pipe i was holding in the tank, all of a sudden my ghost knife swam to close to the pipe and got sucked up and through the other end, i got him back into the tank and noticed that he wasnt using a fin - has this happened to anyone else and will the fin come right with time ?

i use to have silica sand - but went to "east coast sand" from placemakers cause the silica is a bit bright and reflects a lot of light

that will be good if they do come right - i put some JBL balls, flourish comprehensive, and flourish excel in tonight. hopefully they all start growing again and taking off now

yeah i read about some peoples nightmares with it - its bad enough i have a very small amount of BBA - I hate it but cant seem to kill it off

Cheers I've had them less than 2 months but they are awesome - I think I have the right mix of colors now with the fish now - be great to get the plants sorted out for that tank then i'll be happy with it all.

ok looks like theres no Cyano so thats all good - it was food or something but its gone now from that spot - i had some minty green water in that tank when it was in our kitchen at xmas, but now its in our bedroom and i did a complete backout the water is pretty clear.

ill go have a look - but it could be some left over flake that im feeding the swordtails edit - not there now so must some flake - funny color it is though

tank is about 28 and the substrate is east coast sand from placemakers - it use to be silica but i thought there was too much glare in the tank and wanted to soften it a bit. well spring is here but there is no taking off yet

what picture are you looking at that gives you that idea ?

cool thanks P44 - so you reckon with the fert balls and dosing of excel, and comprehensive the sag will start growing again ? should i look at getting my DIY CO2 going again ?

I think that because the leaves are dying off they are getting smaller? I'm waiting for some JBL fert balls to come from redwoods in the next couple of days with the flourish comprehensive - how many fert balls should i put in under the roots how far apart should i put them so they are the most effective ? im getting 20 balls so I was going to put some under all the twisted val (if its worth while) and some under the other plants. Because i have a bad memory I cant remember what this plant is that I bought at the KMAC auction last month - can anyone help

yeah i read daily dose but because of the val i havent been doing it that often - yep sword shaped leaves. ive had these swords for about a month so thought perhaps they should be ok now ?
