  1. First two Crypts are in using up my only two terracotta pots, need to get back to Palmer's lol. C. Affinis, about 3 smaller plants potted up in this one. C. Undulata Now comes with water. Substrate is a 50/50 mix of top soil and an Aquatic soil mix with a small amount of leaf litter. Then a JBL ball placed in the middle of each pot. Substrate is kind of light though and I have some gravel that I would like to use to cover it up. Only problem is it originally had some MTS in it but it has been dried out for over a year. So is it safe to use without the risk of the MTS coming back and am I just being paranoid? Or should I be getting some other gravel?
  2. When the old Crypt tank got infested with mould, I was never able to get rid of it. Kind of went off fish about then. Could never get the 5ft tank to look decent either lol. ATM, I have C. Undulata (I think) to go in and another one, which I can not remember the name of right now. What Crypts I want to get, as many as I can fit in the 2ft Tank?
  3. Missing my Crypts, kinda Jen's fault. Click on the pictures to make them bigger, figured I'd be taking loads of pictures and making them linked would save a bit of space. My Cheap, $10 light fittings from Bunnings that look oh so amazing. Different Angle, excuse the mess on the desk, was studying for exams earlier today. Bit o' Humidity in there already. Now I just need some Crypts in there, should have some in tomorrow.
  4. Why would you buy BF3 for the story... 64 player online with giant maps?
  5. Silvers are from the Amazon and grow a bit bigger than the Asian aro (about 4ft). Most Asian aros are more 'colourful' and grow a bit smaller than Silvers. Pearl Arowanas are the Australian ones and grow a similar size to the Asian aros (about 3ft). Wouldn't have a clue where to get an Arowana in Wellington though
  6. What type of snails are they? if they're Malaysian trumpet snails, not many fish will actually eat them. Although some yoyo loaches like the taste of them
  7. *glares* I think java fern would look great on those logs then at least once you do cover them in plants you wouldn't be able to see the outsides of them
  8. The blurred loach on the very right of the pic
  9. The body itself gets stunted and stops growing, but the organs inside of the fish do not which causes problems IMO wouldn't it be better than rather banning the sale of goldfish for certain sized tanks (like ~20L) but to inform them of how large they can get and things like how to keep them healthy?
  10. They should be kept outside all the time if possible, as they need something in sunlight. I'm unsure about the cage, as you need to make it cat/animal proof and that size of the cage is probably a bit for one due the the amount of space live food has to escape. I'm sure you could save a bit of money by building one yourself as well Also if you haven't already have a read though some of the things on this site http://www.reptiles.org.nz/ there's an article on there about how to build a cage as well, but I can't seem to find it atm
  11. Enough for me yet? and it's really pink nice pictures
