What do you put in a 6L ? brine shrimp?

I've just changed my avatar. That is my sweet Sunny bird - a Lutino cockatiel that we lost on Easter Weekend, on my birthday. We miss her so much and don't know what happened to her after the seagull spooked her from where she was circling our house. I suspect she didn't survive more than a day or two. :-( Sunny was a handraised bird and so affectionate and very much dependant on humans , poor wee thing. Inside Cockatiels don't do too well in the NZ environment, unlike the more hardy Lorikeets and Rosellas. Aint no sunshine when she's gone.. don't know where she's gone, she's been gone too long.

the sister site (oracle education) is also "broken" http://www.oracle.ac.nz/ I wonder what I should do about my order. It was only yesterday so I guess I'll wait a few days and try again. If they've ceased to exist I will have to buy elsewhere but just want to know what is going on because I should have received an immediate confirmation when I made the order. They sell aviverm wormer (levamsiole) too , which can be hard to get sometimes. (it's under the bird section)

ok, i got the phone number a different way .. google . Rang them and it went straight to messaging so still can't get a hold of anyone. Maybe they are on holiday.. (it's an educational supplier) - wouldn't have ordered if that were so .. but there was no indication on the site to say so and they are usually open for school holiday workshops.

SO I emailed them, yesterday and again today to ask them about it and heard nothing. SO I went back to the site to get the phone number and now can't get on the site.. nothing but a blank page.. wondering if it's just my computer.. can someone try and get on the site and get the phone number for me so i can ring them and ask what's going on. Have ordered from there before without probs but this seems strange. If I didn't get the confirmation email I'm wondering if my order is lost in cyberspace... or if they are still running at all. Thanks

My hubby really wants me to get Angels for the 160L tank I just got but i don't think I like them. Haven't fully decided what to put in there (besides my exisiting guppy, kuhli, female fighter) .. the angels just don't grab me and can't they be a bit aggressive? Thinking about dwarf gourami becuase they don't grow too big. So on the lookout for some pretty and healthy young ones.. how many? .. can they live in a group of 2-3 ok?

oh you have some lovley guppies.. why can't I find ones like that in Auckland? I'm after a nice snakeskin make if anyone has one they want to sell me.. prefer Manukau so hubby doesn't have to drive me too far.

Hi moya the tank just has water at the moment, letting it run for a week first but thinking about putting in a few guppy fry. I've got some of the noodles in the existing tank to boost them along. The Jager heater is spot on with temp - great! Bet you had a really busy day yesterday!

are neons hard to keep? I suppose a shark would eat them .

opening day A few loss leaders to attract the crowds.. the AR850, a blue planet 50L, a kennel, a cat scratcher and a few other things were all half price or less.. We got the tank and the cat scratcher, plus discounted cat food and a few other bits. I asked a staff member if I could leave my name with details about my lost bird in case any one turned up to buy provisions for a newly acquired found bird... and she remembered the details from my post on the the forum.. so that was cool to meet Moya!

Oh , that's a very good consideration - and one I will definitely heed ! Hmm, so I'm thinking of a couple of dwarf gourami and then maybe a month later adding the shark.

I don't mind if he eats all the fry! would he bother the male guppy do you think? What else should I know about sharks ... temp and pH seems OK to mix with my other fish.

I'm starting to think about what to put in my AR850 and am open to suggestions but would like to know about Rainbow Sharks.. * is 160L enough for them, or still too small? (just want one) * can they get along OK with Kuhli loaches, guppy, female betta? I have looked online but got some differing compatibility results. * what other fish could go with a rainbow shark... or the above mentioned fish other ideas I'm tossing about are dwarf gourami and a handful of small schooling fish Would welcome ideas and advice.. you guys rock! Just got the tank today and letting it run a week before I transfer the fish over from my AR380 (with the AR380 media to help seed the new one) . Some of you know I lost my handraised lutino cockatiel last weekend and it has been a devastating event for my family, Setting up the new tank will be a nice distraction hence why I'm starting to plan it out now.. i need something else to think about to stop these darn tears that keep creeping up on me. We lost sunny as in she's gone .. nowhere to be found :-( Don't worry , I won't be adding new fish all in a hurry .. just getting ideas and researching options at the moment.

We were there at 8.50am , then the guy came out and said if you want a fish tank line up here. So we did.

the lights are: 2 x 8000 superlight and 1 x 15000 tri-power which is all gibberish to me.. guess I have some more learning to do. For now, I'll just put my indian fern in and a new plant I bought today (don't know what it is lol)

hey I also notice there are three separate switches for the 3 bulbs.. 2 x 25W and 1 x 20W What are the reasons/situations I would use the different lighting?

All I've got at the moment is Stress Zyme.. I need to go to another store to buy some TLC or JBL. Now where the heck do I run the cable for the heater??? There's room for it at the intake end but It really should be at the other end by the outlet. We are retiring the little AR380 and will keep it as a spare.. so I'll have the AR850, the hexy Midi and my splish splash quarantine/fry tank.

Well we got one.. the staff were very organised and handed out dockets to people waiting outside so we could secure a tank (or kennel - the other major sale item) We got the floor model so came with gravel (yay) and the cabinet already made up which saves us some time. They did forget to give us the manual but i'll download one. It's a little different to the AR380 set up. Met Moya there .. she was lots of help... Hi moya! I manged to move along the Ar380 , and put the AR850 in it's place so can have both tanks going while the 850 settles down. Today I will be washing it all down, rinsing the gravel and get it set up. I got a jager 150W heater so hopefully that will do the trick. Will need to get some more plants in time too. Was tempted by the glosso but I have Kuhli!

You just stay away from that ar850 Sam lol.. Problem is I want to put the 850 where the 380 sits currently, so will have to do it on one go. Not really anywhere else to put it. Might see you tomorrow. We need some cat food too and some fishy supplies. I saw the betta veiltails there last week, looked like they were having hard time with the current in the tanks.
