  1. These questions come up a lot, not just in their own threads but in other threads regarding whole aquariums. Maybe a sticky is needed?

Added a small pump just to get some more flow through the hairgrass, algae seems to build up in "dead" spots even on growing plants :-? Hairgrass from the front. Note the new growth coming through Hairgrass from the top. Shows the horrible algae at its best Polysperma and algae The black sand that's been filtered out by the diffuser flow
  3. Aww thanks. I have grown glosso in 30cm of water but it got covered it algae. I really want to try a dense hairgrass carpet again but the tank is being used for fry. If you look on some overseas forums, namely plantedtank.net's nano section you'll see this is what they use. That hairgrass tank waas ignored, just a couple of JBL fert balls at the start, play sand, that light and no CO2.
  4. If by these you mean 6500k 23w energy savers then I can comment positively on them. I grew this under one.
  5. Didn't read the sparky bit
  6. Plecos are out of the question in a tank this size. They grow too big and produce too much waste. Try corydoras (cories) instead, specifically pygmy cories.

Thanks for the advise P44 I will just keep up the daily 10L water changes and siphon off the algae if possible.

The plants are growing, just covered in algae :-? I was wondering if I should turn off the CO2 when the lights are off, I have other times. @ N1CK, would that work?!
  10. I'm so sorry to hear that, my thoughts are with you both
  11. You? Or are you getting someone else to do it?

Blackout? Remove CO2 I'm guessing? I tried three little BNs last time and they did nothing :-?

Algae is getting worse, took a couple of hours off the photoperiod though. The little fighter (not the marbled one) jumped the tank. Came home to find her dried up and pecked on the carpet.
  15. Sounds about right. I feed fry twice or three times a day, other fish once or twice if they're growing. Adults get one feed when ever I remember.
  16. Hyperactive (Yes I do, I made sure so it wasn't anything rude. Little tentacled creatures of the sea I believe)
  17. Rabbit (Thanks, Google helps )
