  1. I'll just have to release them into the estuaries then I reckon it could be done though? Bit of Brackish water?
  2. I give up on gumis, too much algae too fast I wanna try Biotope breeding these guys if possible, then experiment 8)
  3. Who? What? When, where why and how?!
  4. So keep it gentle? Surface agitation and bubbler only? What kind of plants do you recommend? Not really no I could too, hmm.... 8) Thanks for the help so far guys
  5. Gotta love the way the algae traps O2 bubbles 8)
  6. Hello all. I'm likely getting some shrimp in a couple of weeks and want to do it right the first time. I have two small power heads rated at 227LPH and 460LPH plus an air pump if needed. The tank will be the standard 2ft (60x30x30) and have 2x 6500k 18w T8s but apart from that, essentially blank. 1. What would be the perfect habitat for these inverts? Plants, décor, etc. 2. Do I need to feed them anything? 3. How much flow can the tolerate? Thanks -Sam
  7. Show off! Got a wheel for it? My mice loved their running wheels
  8. I'll ask for some 20mmish fittings then
  9. Isn't this just a phase? If so, it happened on my slightly larger tank I just did 10% water changes everyday, started PMDD, cut the photoperiod back by 4hours and let it sort itself out
  10. Well you cleared it up for me too. Looks like I'll be off to Bunnings this weekend to get some fittings Is 20mm too big for the "To Sump" pipe or is it better to be oversized than undersized? Thanks
  11. Everyone knows to keep the bottles now 8)
  12. Thanks for the summary LA
  13. Thanks for the explanation Ira If the bottom of the U tube was lower than the end in the tank, it'd create a siphon right?
  14. I don't know about Crinum but all the others are here, in one species or another. HTH
  15. Hold on, how does the HOB system regulate the amount of water going out of the tank? Or does it just take water without regulating it? Thanks
  16. When a certain part of the hedge grows better because of all the aquarium water you've poured on it
  17. That's cool. You already have those rocks, he says what he used to do it and those plants are available here. Copy if you like but personally I'd add my own twist, perhaps hairgrass instead
  18. So like salt water Marimo Moss Balls? The freshwater ones are common overseas, pretty much algae on a ball of mud. Place and turn regularly to stop a flat side from forming. Worlds easiest pet
  19. I only suggest an image of what's desired to give some idea of what is trying to be achieved. From there we can say what will and what won't work, how to do certain things and what's needed to do it.
  20. Here I am! How dare you post a thread like thhis while I'm away for the weekend  But seriously, welcome to the forum. In this tank, glosso or HC (too bad we don't get it here) is the only way to go. But what I think you're looking for is the Nature Aquarium (NA) look. This is the complete opposite of the low scape this rock layout is suited for. Change the rocks to branching wood or make the rocks larger then go for the NA look. Pictures of the 'scape you're going for?
  21. Africans, you're doing it right! Looks excellent.
  22. MTS is setting in A pair will be, but the resulting fry will not be. I'd hold off on a pair until you have another tank that fry can be moved into, just have males for the time being. HTH
