  1. Welcome to the fishroom Devilfish I have considered it many times but found the cost to be too great for the small number of fish being kept. If keeping Bettas in the hundreds it should work out cheaper, but the coke bottle method is cheaper for keeping a few males. Also, the lack of suitable containers in NZ for a drip system is a let down. Hope you enjoy your time here
  2. When you just cooked yourself pasta, go to sit down and eat it but end up feeding the fish first :nilly:

    Hi and Thanks

Welcome to the fishroom! Very nice tank
  4. I have five angels in 120x40x40 tank and they do fight sometimes. Nothing serious but I may have to move some if they pair up. If you want a small fish with movement try Danios, they NEVER stop moving! :nilly:
  5. That's no good  Hope you find Pandora soon LA!

    hello from newbie

    Welcome to the Fishroom
  7. Don't worry Joe, it's silly anyways  And you don't need to have a fishroom to breed Bettas!
  8. Welcome back Bobo! 1) I'd say if you have enough Daltons then save the Florapol for future use. 2) Daltons when stirred up apparently creates a very murky tank and sometimes results in an algae outbreak. Unless your CO2 and lights are very high, I'd just stick to regular gravel/sand. 3) I've found that if Amazon Swords don't have enough room to grow their leaves get all bent against the glass, not pretty at all. 4) 20L tank? I'd keep it to just the fighter. Pick a really nice one off a breeder, sure beats a sad looking pet store veiltail 8) 5) I would err on the side of caution in this case, I've had fighters jump 5cm+ and having lids gives a piece of mind. Also slows evaporation. 6) RTS and Tiger Barbs can be quite agro, gourami's pelvic feelers/fins may be nipped or nibbled. It's quite a large tank, why not stock a few angels as feature fish along with some bottom dwellers? 7) Yes they are if fed correctly. -Sam
  9. If it's orange/yellow then it'll just cause algae. Try for a 6500k or Cool Daylight energy saving bulb.
  10. I get it on my driftwood, harmless and seen my guppies picking at it. On another note, 100W orange light?
  11. What does this have to do with my age exactly?
  12. I'm being serious. What about that implies a joke? :-?

    New here

Welcome to the Fishroom. Where abouts are you from?
  14. C'mon, water? Really? That's kind of unspoken :-? Water conditioner too, I do 50% daily WCs straight from the tap, no ill effects.
  15. It costs just the same to feed 100 VTs as it does to feed 100 HMs, the initial investment is just greater. Not by much though, I've bought HM pairs for less than a single male petstore VT.
  16. "Prettyful" and vicious. He was flipping her out of the water and such
  17. I see VTs more than CTs at my LPS and LFS, doesn't mean to say VTs are more sought after.
  18. Rather a CT to a VT any days :-?
  19. Do you want to borrow my pair for breeding? You can borrow them if you're very careful.
  20. There's not even any veiltails on aquabid, that's how unwanted they are. I might be able to lend you a pair, anything to stop veiltails :nilly:
  21. I just spawned my PK pair in a bare bottomed 60x30 with a large floating indian fern in it, the fry are 2 weeks old. Fed on microworms with 50% daily waterchanges and a sponge filter everything is going well. Do you have a pair yet?
