  1. sometimes i find fish hide more when because of water quality?
  2. Realy? i had mine with silvertips, corys & baby kirbs (0.5-1cm) didnt eaven touch them
  3. Sorry i was wrong, i was thinking of a different syno, u will probably get them for about $60-$100
  4. I think you can but cost about $100-$200? or am i thinking of the wrong ones?
  5. I used to have kinda blue ones theres some pictures here: http://fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic. ... 08#p451334
  6. Yeah and maybe more silica sand aswell. Its good to keep some spare sand as small amounts can get sucked up during water changes. I have coral sand in my big tank and i just put chunks of coral behind the rock work to buffer the water in my others.
  7. Yeah one or two should be fine but they sill get resonbly big (about 11-13cm) If you are looking to get one like my profile picture you will need to look hard. As most red jewels are a pale pink or grayish brown. Make sure you see the perents before you buy one. Here is a picture of my breeding pair: And the male:
  8. Keep in mind that some pet stores just say that any thing is ok for the sake of the busness and making $$$. some have no idea what you are asking. Using animates as an example down here in chch they sell small goldfish bowls (only about 10L  ) and about 4 comets and say they will be fine Some stores have very little knowledge of fish
  9. Last time i checked Kribs were african? "They are found in Africa inhabiting waters of southern Nigeria, the drainage area at the mouth of the Ethiop River" There is quite alot of people keeping kribs in high ph with africans peacfuly. But i would suggest not keeping them with the more agresive munba species as one can take over 260l tank
  10. I would think size would be a bit problem like ryanjury said. Most africans get over 10cm so your tank might not be the best. Maybe go for dwarfs they stay quite small and most are just as colourful as africans.
  11. your welcome I just set up my third african tank
  12. "Furthermore, under sections 52 and 53 of the Biosecurity Act, it is illegal to knowingly communicate (move); release, or cause to be released; spread; sell, or offer for sale; exhibit; or breed rainbow skinks without the explicit permission of a Chief Technical Officer." As it says here you can not keep, breed or sell them etc....
  13. Were you looking at getting africans or SA cichlids? Dwarf cichlids like rams, kribs etc would be better because they would go better with mollies. Tho I think mollies perfer salt in their tanks? I would recomend getting rid of the mollies because they would restrict the kind of cichlids you could get. Maybe peacocks they would go well with your E yellows. Or you could just get some more of them of them? E yellows look realy good in larger groups and arn't as expensive as other brightly coloured african cichlids.
  14. What size is your tank? Also what kind of africans were you looking at getting?

I had mine for 3 days and they layed eggs. I chose them from seperate tanks so they wernt a pair when i got them. They ate the babys when they hatchd tho but ready to lay again. One thing i found real strange is that they layed the eggs in the sand so i couldnt take them out  Ph 6.8 tho they are sapost to like it lower? had angles and a GAE in the same tank. my male has realy long fins compered to the female who has a pinker belly.
  16. I think theres 3 electra and 4 dolphins in that pic?
