  1. I wouldn't risk it if I where you. I defffintly wouldn't put a male and female together with other fish as they would most likely pair up and aggresively deffend the eggs.
  2. Kribs can be pretty nasty. Even more agro when breeding.
  3. kribs, convicts, guppys, gold fish, plattys and allmost bronze corys but the eggs died.
  4. Yeah I thought they where cheap to. They are in Manawatu grain and sead in Feilding. What do you mean by pure v pattern?
  5. Oh cool I found some nice healthy ones for $16 each. They might actualy be a bit bigger than 5cm acually.
  6. How much is a good price to pay for 5cm small clown loaches? and how much are small ones at animates?
  7. I got something that souds like that in my pool. Its has legs and crawls. Will take a pic tomorrow.
  8. Cool I know I have whistlers. But Im sure I have seen some that look like golden bell frog but we arnt in the area that there supposed to be in. I will try and get some pics of them. They have a smoth skin and are not warty.
  9. Did you have alot of plants?
  10. If you put daphnia in there they should culture and then the parents would be less likely to eat the eggs and fry. Also with floating plants mozzies would lay then fish could eat the larvae. Thats what I am going to try.
  11. I am doing a couple of small 100 liter ponds aswell. I got one small one set up at the moment with some wood, java moss, indian fern and duckweed. I set it up this morning and the temp is allready up to 24. How deep are your ones? cause mine are in the shade and heaten up very fast
  12. Is there any way to tell what sort of frog a frog will be from a tadepole?
  13. I was cleaning the glass house today and thought I might have a go at growing some aquatic plants in there. I have a few containers and a old bath I could use to grow them in. I have a few indian ferns that I am going to try in there. Does any one know where I could get some Riccia cant seem to find it? what other plants could I grow in there.
  14. He climbs on to my hand and I let him hop around my room. I wouldn't like to see him living in a cage for the rest of his life though.
  15. Yeah good point. What do you think my chaces of taiming him would be?
  16. Thanks for the offer. I have got him in a indoor cage in the sun and he seems to be chearing up a bit so may try putting him back in the avairy in a few days. I don't think he would be very well suited inside after being outside for all his life? At the moment he will sit on my shoulder but that could be because he is un well.
  17. Thanks his old partner seems to of mated up with a younger male. Don't know if hes got much life left in him.
  18. Does any one know roughly how old this budgie is? found him on the avairy floor not looking to good. Its either four months or 5 or more years. Has a bit of blood around its face.It was Real cold and windy last night so might of flown into something.
  19. Wheres the filter out take pipe positioned, make sure it is making surface agatation.
  20. Do you have much flow in the tank they don't like as I read a lack of oxygen in the water can cause the water to go acidic, which would also explain why the fish where breathing fast. I myself had this problem when I started up my second tank I put it down to decaying plants and lack of airation. What was the temp difference between tanks? 10 minutes doesn't seem that long to acclimatize for. If they seem strest out it may be because the lights are bright I allways leave the lights off for a couple of hours after adding a new fish seems to calm them down a lot. I agree that the ph itself won't be the problem. I have mine on 6 as the tank contains drift wood and is filled with rain water.
  21. A guy called valray has a few for sale on tm, just search the user name.
  22. I would get drift wood from the beach as theres more selection there. Also because that stuff from the shop looks real boring and all looks the same. Then the cost is like $30 for a small bit. It is more rewarding finding your own bit on the beach than just buying a bit from the shop. I dont worry about cleaning unless it looks dirty.
  23. It has a few fish but have know idea how many.
  24. It gets fill of tadpoles in here but the ones in here are way bigger tadepoles. I take it the bell frogs have bigger tadpoles?
  25. Last year after rehoming over a 100 there where still loads of tadepoles left and most of them turned out to be the whistling tree frogs. So Im not sure if the golden bell frogs breed in there or not but I see hundreds of them in our pond. But yeah I would think the golden bell frogs would have a good munch on the whistling tree frogs.
