hey would it be ok if me and scottie came to the next meeting? wont see you tomorrow unfortunately but would be keen to come next time. really like the midday time and day, leaves everyone with plenty of time to get home and time to actually do things.

yea they just randomly come out some times, we got carevets jville to bring in 3 DT females for us. 2 green and 1 green with clearish tail, should come out nice with our platinum male

that is EXACTLY what happens at the works. that cow that you shot is still in a fenced paddock, nowhere else to run is there? that catfish in a bath is just the same as a cow in a paddock, only the cat used its natural weapons to capture and kill the fish (if it wasn't already dead) were as you go in and "one instant bang and its all over" cow didn't have a chance in hell did it?

hmmm yes i brought myself a white gas (is it called that?) mostly white but with clearish fins? from palmy animates the other day (after coming and visiting you pheonix) looks alot like that guy you have firefish, only a more rounded tail. we only paid $20 or so as well.

well if the fighter with the heater is swimming round and has good colour, and the fish without is lying around looking rather sad, then a safe bet to say he needs a heater. our fighters give you the evil eye if their temp gets below 25!

one of mine has survived the last 3 months with only one eye (not sure which tank mate is to blame) but he does very well, still gets around and feeds with every1 else.

contact "Rox" in Wanganui, she breeds some very nice strains.

there all $11 down here, some very nice colours i would have been happy 2 pay extra for lolz! first time id seen split fins as well, what are every1's thoughts on them? are they worth trying to carry on with or are they not really that desirable?

pheonix last time we went to animates in palmy there were 3 females, being sold as a pairs with $150 price tags on them, they were pretty yes, but not $150 for an unproven pair, pretty. no offence. Wgtn Animates guy said he hadnt seen a female betta in his store for 4 months, i wouldnt call that a shortage, id call that a drought!!!!

well rox there were lots of lovely colours, mostly mixed, not many were actually block colours. there were mainly "wild type" colourings, reds and blues and greens all mixed up on the same fish, very pretty!! there were a few very stricking deep blues in the mix as well. as for what they actually were VT, CT hard to tell of course, there definetly were some crowns, could see the rays at the tail end. i got the one with the most green i could find, and i also got the 2 split tails that were there (are they called heart tails?) not sure what every1s opinion is on them, but i find them very attractive. those two are a pale yellow and blue, hopefully colour up some more after a day in a more peaceful tank. i rang Animates as soon as i got home, very nice lady said yes they had there latest fish stock in and said they had 8 female betta! at which point i blurted out "your BLEEP kidding me right?!" she said "language!!!" and i said ill be there in a min and hung up. spend almost an hour down there staring at beauty, and forgot to go pickup scott from work :oops: but there were infact about 30 females there (they thought it was too good to be true and that they must be plakat males) might take scott down there with me tonight just for a look.

to let every1 who has had trouble getting them lately. Animates Kaiwhara have about thirty female fighters!!! and i can confirm that the majority are females, not plakat males!!! all colours too just thought id tell you :bounce:

call her "spoon" thats about as different as i can think of lol :lol: "chaos" or "trouble" coz thats definitely what she'll be!

im the receptionist at a company called *weck-pack*. we own, wash and sell those black folding crates you see at countdown and woolworths full of fruit and vege. and the yellow crates full of produce you see at the markets. im the only female who works here, normally around 10 men working who i keep in line

lol yea join the club!!! we just today collected some bettas from GBoyd (thank you so very much if we forgot to say so earlier Garry!!!) but dont think there are any greens in the mix.

id say about 7kg, little bigger than my fat Kelpie lol.

If you hold the pipe up so one end is in the water and the other is above the water line then suck on the pipe till it is almost full (use a clear pipe ) then put your finger over the end to stop the water rushing back out in to the tank... Then all you do is lower the pipe to your bucket and remove your finger. Water will start flowing Guaranteed to never get a mouth full because gravity is trying to pull the water away from you

I have a small foam filter in the comunity tank as a back up (all the time) and when I need to cycle a tank I do a water change for there and put the old water in the new tank and switch the canister filter over putting a new on in the comunity tank (mixing the media then seperating it between the two filters). I then do a 50% water change every day for then next 3 days with some tetras or guppies in there to keep the bacteria well fed I am sure this not the "recomended way" but if you have a healthy comunity tank like I do it should be fine 8)

you will need to get some pics for us some time. We have just had our first batch of little ones so fingers crossed they get big enough to get some pics for everyone. What colours do you have? are the VT, CT, HM or ST?

We have just bread some in sand and now we have some free swimmers in the tank. We have taken him and her out so I hope some of the little ones survive
