  1. hey Ash.. give me a txt if you still have my num 0272502557 all the piks above are from the blue black spawn... so they are of size to sell already.. can sex most of them if they stay still long enough ... obviously i plan to grow a fair few of them out for selling also there are quite a few celophane males and females so no need to stress , plus they start growing real fast once isolated from the rest of the group... im going to setup another tank very soon for growout using coke bottle method.. still havent got that fish room sortd yet!!! slack! im pretty much keeping a pair of most colors.. and few pairs of the blacks and greens etc for my breeding prg mainly just made the orange/red ones for sale at moment as they are the ones that are older than most and coming of breeding age etc , so really need to get sold. plan to keep the one who looks like his dad from that spawn as hes just recently passed away... and a few of the females.
  2. haha hav you seen how many iv got? iv only takn few photos oif ones that are isolated i will be selling one or two black pairs only and keeping rest for breeding.. as il also be keeping one or two pairs of most colors rest will either be for sale on here ... trademe .. or at local chch fish shops (not the eating type)
  3. have some more piks to show growth will upload later tonight
  4. plenty of males down here in various shops , not really keen on buying anymore considering i have alot of juveniles in my tank that i plan to keep too
  5. honey dwarf gouramis are doing well .. they are coloring up nicely.. ive got few adult females just no males at mo... the fry are growing nice ..some are about 40mm long in total and showing nice coloring.. stil rather hard to sex at mo tho
  6. Hey cant seem to spot that Yellow one anymore.. alot of the fighters have increased color dramatically there are a lot of blacks and shades of black some of the blacks are green black few reds... reds and blacks .. transparants , blues , green blues .. transparant blues starting to get the nice long fins now... currently setting up another grow out tank.. so hopefully get alot more isolated this weekend to safely grow to stunners
  7. hi nick. if its about 3cm it should show signs of coloring up by now... id say it prob will stay cambodian.. ie if it has the cambo genes it more than likely will throw that way as i think its a domanant gene those piks are very average... there are some awesome colors showing and darkening up unfortunately its real hard to take piks of them in the main tank due to movement and lack of lighting , as running indian almond leaf as a treatment at moment.. will be slowly removing this by WC over next week
  8. had alot more piks but they were very average quality/blurred. will take more on WC tomorrow night camera is charged ready for tonights shoot! hopefully get some decent ones before it goes flat again lol
  9. Hey guys bout time i put a update up... this section of forumns been litle quiet! Havent got many piks yet... these guys are so active its hard to keep them still long enough to take a pik thats not blurry plus camera went flat tonight Red Spawn piks --------------- Blue Black spawn piks ---------------------
  10. gnerally the male will eat them.. might not be hugngry tho ;P
  11. hmmm give them time.... give them a day or two.. wont do any harm giving them time to hatch... worst case they will fungus up and the male will eat them
  12. hey.. once they get to a decent size you can sex them by the roundness of the top fin... generally pointed is male and rounded is female.. the females are generally more bland in color than the males.. showing more silvery than anything
  13. dont know how hot the mix was when yeast was added... since yeast is a live culture your ment to let the oats cool before adding the yeast as the heat above 30degrees destroys the yeast

i just upload them on photobuket then click the (img) link and cut and paste into here if you have a pic send it to me [email protected] and il put it up for you
  18. haha prob best way is to find out what works best for you and stick with it... dont forget to keep re culturing and starting new one to keep it going .. a sprinkle of yeast every week or so tends to reactive a slowing culture too

  20. i only harvest off the sides of the containter.. i then use a squewer or iceblock stick and then transfer it into a small clear container... i then fill the container half full of water and let it sit on a slight angle on a bench for ten mins.. i then use a needle-less syringe and airhose to syphon the settled microworms and then drop it into tank drop by drop as required this way you dont get oats or the digested oats milkstuff into your tank.. and it keeps it a bit cleaner.. its a bit more involved but id rather do this while im doing other stuff than have to spend more time cleaning than i have to most of the microworms that climb up the side are generally clean.. when the culture starts slowing you can place a portion of wet paper towell onto the mix leave it ten mins then rinse it in water into container and let settle and feed as above
