  1. Loaches will take care of them i reckon, i dont have experience with loaches but apparently they munch on snails heaps, so maybe like: clown loaches, yoyo, tiger botia, striata etc, and they look good 8)
  2. definately my bichirs, more specifically delhezis, they are not exactly super smart but their antics fascinate me. they look slightly different from the other types we get here but they look the coolest. My albinos are definately the stupid ones they over eat all the time and only have a mind for their stomachs and are practically blind bumping into everything. anyways bichirs take the cake
  3. Bugs??!! dude go back to fish, or ill tell all the fellas at Taka hockey club  lol
  4. Hey guys, how big is this knife and what is its price tag? can someone post pics, its at HFF roskill I believe.
  5. NOOOOOOO!! dont keep the AT its a rubbish fish, get rid of it!!!!!  8)
  6. it doesnt look overstocked, i call overstocked the asian style tanks where nothing can move its so dense, and the only thing keeping them alive is filtration. altough for general overstocking i think that whatever breaches the natural appearance aspect is overstocked, when the tank doesnt look right, if you get where im coming from? I still reckon try an arowana

    New Tank

nice work, id love to do pictus catfish if my ornate wasn't so intense on eating them.
  8. but youve got that upgrade coming along tho right  nah man its looking great, a few more plants would look great I reckon, maybe a knife too?
  9. So keen sweet tank! looking good, look even better with a green aro in there 8) 8) 8)
  10. What type of gravel is that? did it have a name? looks great
  11. Whether or not you do water changes often, i still think these set you up for fail , they even recommend goldfish for those small tanks  , and people who haven't been educated think its ok.
  12. I'd still be pretty ticked off living in something I cannot move in and where my vision is distorted by the walls , the fact that these guys have to survive this in the wild is different, thats part of nature and the cycle usually ends in a swift death, but this is different - if you get the gist of it, if you know what i mean?
  13. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 580112.htm ------- put this into the url thingy. I looked at this and couldn't believe it, some people have no conscience!!! imagine living in that! lol i wonder how they fit the filter in  :-?, and then some guy asks if it is double glazed or something That is for milk NOT fish!
  14. lol, no thanks snookie, man you are having a really hard time trying to sell them, I would have thought someone would like to make a really large school or something. cheers morcs, will probably be a few weeks away yet, going to Fiji next week :bounce: , got my dive certificate in Samoa a couple of years ago but haven't done any diving since, and dont own my own gear, but when im there i will hopefully dive with some sharks = pinnacle of my diving ambition. Yeah, about the ornate i considered selling my last one but i think they look really cool especially when they are monster so i will keep him, just means that smaller fish will have to be held in another tank
  15. Absolutely gutted today silver dat died and im pretty sure the ornate was at fault  I hate him lol, I feed them enough why did he decide the dats tail looked yummy, the At started lolling around and im preeety sure it was a swim bladder issue. Anyways, im probably not going to buy any more fish until I have a larger tank and a slightly larger grow out tank  yeah right, but really want to get another AT, he was cool
  16. All good, guts about the fish tho, but i prefer ornates over silver dollars, you should keep him Dont worry about the dels mate but could you tell me how much the surface skimmers are - the cheap ones that attch to a filter intake?
  17. Is this some sort of plan to get me to sell my dats :-? , im keeping them, need something free swimming, although if we had large catfish........ 8). STILL LOOKING FOR DELHEZIS!!! ANYONE!!! By the way morcs do you still have that surface skimmer for sale? if you dont how much do they retail for?
  18. All of mine are currently in a aquaone 980 -215L  , but will upgrade to probly a 4ft+ over summer , atm theyare all fine and the system can handle it but would prefer to have more space for the bichirs at least so I can get more
  19. nah! nah! na-nana, hehe, I got dibs first (as soon as he wants to sell it 8) ) lol, cheers Morcs , would love another one to be a friend, love these guys
  20. :-? may take some time to get a good enough pic
  21. Just made my tank a WHOLE lot better , bought a AT from HFF roskill and he is AWESOME! He looks so cute... well, for a fish his little fins go crazy! He initially was nervous... for 5 minutes! Then this little guy (dwarfed by the other 2 indos) decides to bully the largest bichir in the tank (about 4 times his length) *palm forehead emoticon* pushing his tail and forcing the big guy out of his area, then within 15mins he was swimming with the big guys around the tank, he even decided to bite/nip one! Doh! nuts! mmmmm donuts . He is still shy of me but that will change Im sure, will get photos when I can, a bit camera shy at this stage. Im ver happy also that with the addition of this guy my oddball barred indo has become more stable again, stoked, all the dats looked really cool swimming in a trio around the tank - all the tigers are now stable, YES!! HAPPY HAPPY!
