Hi I have a lot of questions so here goes Cleaning the tank out today to get ready to breed guppies again as the turtle died a while ago i will list the questions and just answer what you can I would appreciate it 1. how do i choose good guppies off trademe 2. My gravel is really ugly old stuff. im goin to get rid of it. i have a small amout of black gravel and plan to buy more can I add that as the tank is running and how much KG would I need for a 3 foot tank. I want blackish stuff not too fused as its for breading 3. Can i put water out of my other tanks when i clean them to boost the tank into the cycle? 4.My filter sponge is had it will wool do for a while Sorry on a tight budget here. but lookin forward to selling the fry again like I use to 5. Will i make just as much selling fry as the big ones???? and how do I keep a good stock, like let a few grow and only sell some?? Thanks in advanced

I will make sure i plant it well, I use to have guppy fry and sell them on trademe out of my 2 foot tank and ended up with 100s But i depleted my stock and only have one guppy left the last lot i got from the bird barn died in a few weeks I never seen any of my guppies eat their babies before but i did see the plays do that lol

I had the turtle at least 15 years and he was full size when I got him so he must of been in his 20s poor old thing I miss him I dont miss cleaning the filter everyweek thou

:digH: Poor turtle died of old age hes now burried in the rose garden so he has something nice to look at The tank is one of the old style 3 foot ones on a stand with a ramp in it Can i leave the ramp in it, I was going to use it to breed guppies And obviously I have to clean it right out including the gravel aye And then leave it goin for a few weeks and slowly add stock Does anyone have any cheap or free guppies to get me started im in waterview i dont mind paying postage Thank you. I want to get some good stock to start me off What can i put in with the guppies that wont eat the babies??? i have platys in another tank and one massive very angry jaws like angel fish thats in another tank ! talk about jaws

Dehimifider in house not in fish room when did i say I or someone else had it in a fish room????? I live in a 1940s old house its pretty cold :bounce:

I worked out my power for what i use for everything about 150 so the tanks must be about ten each in the winter or less and I have 4 so unless you have 40 tanks or something??? do you use heat pump or dehumifider or moved house also check your hot water

Ive only been here a year and this place got 2 lots of insulation so in the summer its very warm !!!! I have one of those fans with ice in it that helps a tad But winter same here about 40 dollars extra, But i got a fire but wood cost a bomb 2

Sounds the same as me I aint using the dehimifder untill the bill goes down a bit I got a gas heater which I only use when I have to as they are bad and the open fire !!!!

Id die if mine was that much Im lookin up power saving websites !!! lol :bounce:

IM keeping a record on my metre each day or when i remember My freezer would be about 14 years old so I will replace that when I can get a new one Ive tured everything else off !!!! I got a big plasma dunno what power that uses hehe I turned my tanks down to about 25 !

Oh ok lol maybe my 190 aint that bad I never had abill like that But i did have one 2 years ago that was 160 and its gone up 4 percent I just worry as I am on my own bit hard to pay that maybe its time to kull the tanks !!!!

Oh ok thanks my house is from the 1940s But i have fluff stuff in the roof and pink batts and under floor insulation I did use the dehumifider for about 2 weeks and that on the website said 1-2 dollars a day and its old so could be that Oh i been cooking a lot of soups and stews too

Me again, i just got 190 dollar power bill and Im on my own But i have a 90 litre tank, 60 ltr and a 22 ltr and a 3 foot turtle tank Usually in the summer its 120, winter now its 190 Anyone else had a hike in their power bill I wont be using my dehumidifer or dryer thats for sure !!!

Thanks buddy I will ring the lps and see if they got any smaller angels Last time they were 12.50 each i aint payin that These ones were only 4.50 Is it ok if I just get a pair??? And ye \be ok in someone elses tank that has lots of hiding places etc

Hi yes your right maybe he killed the rest??? He is such a lovely fish I will take him back to the pet store And Ive had about 25 fish in that tank before its a half round thing I really just wanted neons and a pair of angels Can i just leave him on his own????

I have slowly lost all my angel fish I only have one left Its a pearly colour one It use to pick on all the others dunno if it killed them It chased a few on my other fish around, i only have one neon left and one platty they all died of old age BUT i dont know weather to get some more angels or take it back to the store Id like to keep it any ideas its only in a 60 litre tank so I would only have 4 and maybe 10 neons Thanks And btw hello everyone who knew me from before my guppies are doing well lol lol lol
