  1. Nope, not at all strange. Except for the wings and halo....
  2. Crikey! And I thought working 12 days in a row was bad!
  3. Or, perhaps an identical picture from this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=43169
  4. Your algae eaters will eat some of it at that point, and some of it will just rot away but the rest you may need to scrub off (it will come off very easily after a few days). Any affected plant leave will not generally recover though so it is best to just clip them off.
  5. Green. As usual. Ron's discus are superb.
  6. Anyone planning on using this new service? http://www.jimmyclick.co.nz/
  7. have we missed the point here? Seems to me xxdarnixx was only asking if it was ok to warn forum members about someone on TM....

Wow, can we not get them in NZ anymore? I must admit, I hadn't noticed, my mum buys them in the states for a couple of dollars a packet and sends them to me. 8)
  10. Ugly. Add some potassium. That will help the stem plants scavenge the phosphate.

Can't you get them at Animates?
  12. I think I can help. PM'd
  13. Grindals would be perfect. Good luck getting some ...and keeping a culture going. Try brine shrimp, they are easy and the fish absolutely love em!
  14. Nope, that is definately one too many for your tank. You better let me take that L018 off your hands so you have more room....I know, I am generous to a fault.
  15. Try asking your LFS, I have found they often have extra laying around and are often happy to share or sell a piece. Not sure where else you could get it. Maybe something like it at Bunnings?

  17. Looking good. Nice to see that hairgrass, moss and wendtii have taken off. I have a few odd bits that I need to weed out - let me know what you want and I might have it. Do you trim that moss at all? Mine just grows out of control and I end up pulling it off instead of trimming to avoid the mess. BTW, you know who to contact when you want to move those trifasciata.
  18. As I said before, I would not be surprised if it were a toxin due to the acute onset of symptoms and the fact that multiple fish were affected but I question the phosphorus theory. Phosphorus comes in many forms but the type found in tanks (due to decomposing organic matter and such) is not toxic to fish even at pretty high levels - of course anything is toxic at a high enough level but if that much phosphorus is in your water I would think there would be a public health alert. Of course there could be fertiliser run off, were they referring to organophosphate poisoning? If so, the aquarium phosphate absorbers will not work well if at all. It might be worth searching out a better water source. Anyway, I am glad your fish are doing better.
  19. That's a fine looking tank and some nice looking fish too.
  20. Nice. 8) You make me miss my rotkeils....
