Siamese Fighting Fish bubble nests pop
yeh_buddy replied to scales & tails fishfa's topic in Freshwater
You could even put some glad wrap over the nest to help keep it together, that works for me. -
I would also be weary of having bettas and gourami's together as they are from the same family, and because of that they have a high chance of not co-existing peacefully.

I know Ammonia causes fish to sit at the bottom of the tank along with high Nitrite levels, Ammonia would explain the red patches on his skin. I can only think of Ammonia, because now that your doing the water changes the redness appears to be going which would walk hand in hand with the characteristics of ammonia being removed from the water via water changes. Thats what I would think if it was me with the problem though. It sounds as though your resolving the problem though, so just keep doing partial water changes.

Theres a pink marble on the other site, I sooo want it, so girly and pink. So me. BUT she doesn't ship

Sounds fishy to me, my friend has had her bengal stolen from her in Palmy. Quite devastated. People who steal other peoples pets are quite cruel minded people IMO. Is there any legal way you can go about demanding to see it?

What tail type is it? How big is the tank? What are its tankmates? Does it have any plants or places to hide? Did you see it kill the Neon?

Flourish excel worked for me

Dont mean to sound gloomy but my BN had the same thing and it didnt go away, didnt matter what I treated with it just wouldn't go away. She eventually died weeks later and the marks were still on her, they didnt decrease in size or appearence. Maybe it was just a heater burn but the fact that she died some time later had me a little concerned and I thought I would just pass on my experience to you. May not have been related but its just a thought.

Yes he is. Quite sad because the house was at one point very nice and hes just let it go to waste. We do ventalate the property we even open the front doors and leave it open for most of the day. The property was long gone even before we moved in I reckon. Wish I had listened to my instincts and not agreed to move in. Guess thats what happens when you try and keep everyone else happy. Didnt really want to hear that but guess you are right. I just think thats so wrong about that landlord not having to take any responsiblility for whats happened to my bed.

Thanks for that I was going to ring Citizen Advice tomorrow but I just thought I would post and ask if anyone may have some other similar experiences or info. Didnt think about the Housing department though. Thanks for that.

Hi there im in the process of moving house and today when I was loosening the slats on my bed I discovered mould growing on the slats, it was worse underneath and only seemed to plague the side closest to the bedroom window. NOW heres the fustrating part. We (myself, boyfriend and mate.) moved into our current property 4 months ago. It has a Dvs System to help remove dampness from the house, to which we discovered is extrememely mouldy, damp and crappy despite this system. In my room there is a window which is falling to bits from mould and overall disrepair. The Landlord has been told by two Professionals that the window has to be removed and replaced before it starts affecting the wall surrounding it. Personally I think it already has. The landlord refuses to despite moss growing on the inside of the frame and being able to see light and bits of the front garden through the joins of the warped and brittle wood. Therefore my room is very damp, despite the DVS working on full. I no longer sleep in my room after I discovered the window about 3 months ago, (I got very sick and put it down to sleeping in that room because I havent gotten sick since.) I make sure that I open the windows and strip my bed so it can air. In the winter I made sure I had a heater going in my room aswell. So despite this the Landlord has refused blank to replace the window and has the real estate lady to fob us off by saying that its odd and she doesnt understand how it could have happened and that its been a very bad winter for mould. The bed is less than a year old and when we moved into this property the slats had no mould on them, then 4 months later I discover half the slats growing beards, and disgusting green mould, my mattress also new is plagued with grey patches and yellow patches. My question to all of you is what rights do I have in this matter, does the landlord have any obligations towards this matter, since it was his house that caused the problem with out a doubt. (I forgot to mention before, before I noticed my bed, my flatmate had to chuck out a sheet he was using to cover his window at night away because it became encrusted with yellow mould and my boyfriend has had to throw his vallence away for same reason, not use, but because of mould. And my art stuff which was stored in my room became warped and damp. Along with my books, everything smells mouldy and damp. DO I have a leg to stand on?

Heya Jaide, Thats awesome to hear that Handsome and Fluffy pulled through!! The type of news i like to hear! My Pictus however didn't pull through So yeah Im sad to say the least. Moving to Wanganui on Sunday next week so Im hoping the water will be better! Fingers crossed. Out of my tank the sole survivors appear to be 1x Angle, 1x Banjo Catfish, 1x BN, 2x Halmoon Fighter Males, 1x Crowntail Male Fighter, and 9x female fighters. The fighters of course seem completly oblivious to the water chemistry. Luckily.Lol To say the least I was real gutted about my Pictus dying. Im glad Fluffy made it, how is his head looking?

Heres the other boy had to get him into a guppy breeder in the end just to get a picture of him.lol

Thanks for the post. Just to note I use carbon already. Accoriding to the people I spoke to, the Ph flucs are only because I've done such huge water changes to combat the ammonia, usually I do a 25% water change weekly which doesnt cause problems with the Ph, but if you live in Palmy you know how bad the water is and that it flucuates in Ph,depending on the area you are in of course. There is no white spot in the tank, if you read my previous posts you would have read that. Thanks for your suggestions anyhow. The tank seems to be pulling itself back together now, thankfully. The losses were devastating me, hopefully there will be no more now. :-?

Generally Im all for the no chemical approach for my fish, but when you have expensive fish in the tank that you dont want to also die, that hand kinda reaches for the bottle, alcoholic bottle too for my nerves!lol

Well Tuesday night I did water test and the Ammonia was high (2ppm). I was suprised to say the least because the tank has been well established for a year and never had any problems, and Ph was always 7 despite tapwater being off the charts low. Did 25% water change, had deaths through the night , so did a 50% water change on Wednesday and added Ammo-Lock. Ammonia was back down to a 1 on the Wednesday (tested before adding the Ammo Lock). Today I did a further water change and the ammonia is still at 1 and Ph was 6 or below. At first I thought the Pictus had whitespot due to the stress of major water changes as I've never had to remove more than 25%, being the colour they are it is hard to tell accurately, it turns out it may have been their slime coating or skin. The person at Wet Pets believes the Ph crash caused the prediciment Im in at the moment as catfish especially Pictus are quite fragile in that sense. Damn Palmy's crappy water, tested the water from my tap and sure enough the water is 6 or below. Im hoping the water in Wanganui is better than Palmys. Since I have never experienced this before Im guessing Wet Pets staff member was right, and I hope that the Pictus will pull through.
