  1. You'll probably find the rams ate them. They're usually pretty good parents so it's unlikely they let something near enough them to eat. They should spawn again in a few weeks.
  2. Reading back on these, I hope you don't think we're being mean. In our defense, we spend most of out days watching fish swim around, so we're a little bit crazy.
  3. See, for me it's not the needles, its the noise they make inside your mouth....egh!!!
  4. What Dixon means to say is welcome to the forums! There are lots of people here with awesome guppies, take a look at the livebearers section for pics.
  5. Sorry. No can do. Gaz Ali's Profile You are not authorized to view this profile.
  6. It could be heater burn I guess, but you would usually find it more on the front of the fish - they don't usually swim sideways. You said it looks mouldy? I'm assuming the scales are gone?
  7. You know, I have terracotta pots in my tank. Heaps and heaps of them. It really isn't as much work as it sounds, and think, you can just do one a day or one a week if it's too much all at once. You could even do step 1 in the morning, and step 2 in the evening, to space it out. Not if you have carpet fish or fishing cats though. The end result is, well..you have pots in your tank.
  8. How have you had only an hour of pain???
  9. Mine first started when I was about 17. I'm nearly 20 now, and 1 of mine is about 10% through, the others haven't erupted yet
  10. Probably pH shock and by doing such a through clean of the gravel, you took out lots of the good bacteria. tell her to hang in there.
  11. Here are the babies. They're now free swimming. There's 7 of them still alive. In the lionhead tank, there are some more eggs, and I'm 99% sure I can identify 2 pairs, and I'm pretty sure I've got another 2 pairs as well. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all of them, but at the moment, they seem to be living really peacefully in the 3ft (even though there's 14 of them!!) EDIT: Just realised I didn't explain that I found 8 of the babies when I was cleaning the puffer tank. 7 have survived.
  12. That was horrible to read
  13. I like it. I had a play with it last night, and it was pretty cool. However, for stalking people, I'm going to stick to my dads ultra high powered expensive binoculars
  14. I agree with David - if the filters are well established and you use preheated water (duh!), and slowly acclimatise the fish, I think they'll be ok.
  15. 3 cats, 7 tropical tanks, and a baby tank of feeder crabs...
  16. Is that 28 days from egg to beatle, or 28 days from egg to larve?
  17. Their eegs are really tiny and white. You should be able to find them because they'll hang around them all the time.
  18. Golden Black eyed Ancistrus - a bristlenosed catfish, but golden with black eyes
  19. I just want to thank everyone (especially Stella) for all of your help. Thanks to those of you who have PMed and given me kind words and encouragement. I am going to get my teeth out; I know that it's something I'm just going to have to suck up and do. I think this is a good place to share your experiences with getting dental treatment (but let's try not to scare me too much, huh???)
  20. Yeah, my partner is really good about it, he came to the dentist with me today too. He said he'll take me up to Palmy if that's what I want to do, so at least thats one side I feed good about!
  21. Yeah...that's what my wisdom teeth have been like for the last year, but in the last 2 months I haven't been able to eat solid foods or close my mouth. I finally had to go, and I'm so proud of myself that I didn't try until I got out!
  22. Games take more processing grunt to power, so they can go slow. Depending on how important playing games are to you, maybe you should look at getting a portable DVD player?
  23. OoOo...How'd you get on the urgent list? Is yours expensive too, or are you a smarty pants with insurance?
  24. Thanks so much Stella. My dentist has given me a referral, and I have a community services card. After hearing about the prices, and doing some googling about the possible risks, I'm considering sedation rather than GA. The price is the biggest issue for me, I don't have a job right now and I'm not really keen about spending $2000 on getting some stupid sore teeth pulled. However, I am really really terrified of getting it done, and having someone I know will go a good job and wont screw it up is probably the only thing that will get me there at all!
