  1. yeh sell for $53.90 I believe, I got them for $45 mates rates lol
  2. Have three of them now, feeding time is very exciting! I think I may get a couple more hehe. They are just so cool!! Maybe get a pictus catfish to clean up the carnivore pellets that make their way to the ground... Any sudgestions?
  3. There will never be a war between Asia and NZ because of that guy... He has the right to say things, this doesn’t make it correct tho... I have no problem with people coming to NZ, as long as they are needed - not coming in to replace someone who is already working here, or come over to get money from the government. I have a heap of Asian friends and they are a very good bunch of people, they do some things different. But in the world these days if you cant tolerate another person because of their race alone that is very sad indeed... And gives very little hope... I admit I can be intolerant of people, but not for what colour they are - for the choices, actions and values they have.
  4. Hey there guys, I have had experience with these guys in the past. But now with a sweet new job exc I have just bought three of them and prob will get some more in the future. I remember someone on here had success breeding them? I don't expect to breed these guys, but if it is possible I would like to work towards it. They are eating well and getting along well with each other. And with their strange appearance I have tricked my flat mates into thinking they are poisonous lol, sad but this ensures that they keep away and dont get tempted to over feed them and bug them haha. Advice on their care would be appreciated, thanks!!!!
  5. When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us. Life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by its breathtaking moments.
  6. Looking for some young colourful cichlids for a five foot tank my close friend has in Hamilton. Just shooting it out there to see if anyone has any beautiful fish that are breeding and young stock avaliable?

    So gutted

I got a group of albino guppy fry a few months back, they had all grown up with no problems and started to breed. I moved house so my parents were happy to look after them for a week or two. Set ip the big tank in the new house and went round to the olds to get my pride and joys (all dead).... So very gutted about the whole thing, this may be it with the fish hobby now...
  8. In regards to the time it takes for ambos to arrive exc you have to remember St Johns are the only non government funded emergency service in NZ Which of course equates to limmited fleet size, staff and avaliability. 2/3 are volunteers that dont get payed for the 12 hour shifts that they do. Cambridge for example has one ambo on call per night... One for the whole town, and when traveling to Waikato hospital (40 mins in and out minimum) there is no ambo around (so thats the time issues that people may be dealing with) Calling an ambo meens you will recieve treatment on a potentialy painful journey, and you will be strait into the ED and treated So its not that we are taking our time or anything like that lol, you should see how quick we jump out of bed and in the ambo lights flashing and all at 3am in the morning haha. And most of us do it for the love of the service and to help those in need
  9. I am a volunteer ambulance officer and sever abdo pain is a severity 2 callout, you have every rite to call an ambulance thats what they are there for, not to quiz you on why you called them (which we would never do!). Generaly if you are a adult and have common sence, think an ambulance is required then it generaly is and you should def not question that. You did the rite thing in calling
  10. Its amazing how different cultures are. They think it is such a cool novelty over there, whereas me when I was a child had understanding and respect for life and could never be so crule and heartless. This realy is a disgusting and disturbing insight into a culture...
  11. Mine use to pintch the aro sticks, that fella grew at a fast pase! All depends what they eat and the conditions they are in.
  12. pictus catfish are very much predatory fish, and look realy cool too. The spiny eels will activly hunt. Everything else starts getting much bigger lol...
  13. Theres a giant gourami on TM at the moment, not pink tho... Arows are cool but I thikn the gourami would be better. They look amazing and scary, and dont jump and get as nervouse as arowanas do. Iv only had a couple of silver aros so not sure of the temperment of the greens. Both are lovely fish tho, good choices!
  14. OMG that is so amazing, reminds me of that old school James Bond movie when the bad guy has the pond of pirahanas hehe
  15. you would be so surprized the size they will eat lol, they will make short work of a bi one aswell, but as stated above best to stick with smaller and stay on the safe side
  16. So I got 12 albino guppy fry of a very nice member on here a while back. They are growing well and are now becomming sexable I have two def males which are starting to colour up already which is promising, and they are all active and healthy. They have been so much fun to watch grow and change. Will plan to breed them, sepperate the males and females and condition them for a while on realy good food exc. \ Is going to be a realy cool project and has sucked me right back into the hobby haha Will post some pics at some point
  17. Yes the title is rite lol... If anyone is interested in free young rats (pets lol) white and black/grey. My girl friend and I have split up and she went overboard with breeding them and I have now been left with a lot… They are free to a good home if anyone is interested
  18. Haha was waiting for that!
  19. I like the fact that they are different; the genetics aspect is fascinating to me. I use to breed the albino bristle noses and have also had other albino axolotls breed for me. They are colourful in their own way, just not very varied lol Who else is into their albino fish???
  20. Well I am pretty excited, will be getting my albino axolotl group and my albino guppy group soon. That should keep me happy for a while
  21. lol, awww I wanted you guys to keep guessing! It was the WCMM’s, I know they are not very interesting but I have always thought these fish were really cool. Set it up on the weekend and already have some babies separated off lol. I want to be able to sell them on tm and the forum, cos I have been looking for them for ages and no one really has them, maybe cos there no demand… In which case I will have a garage with hundreds on WCMM…. YAYYYYYYYYYY I will be in haven lol!
  22. Haha, oh man yeh it would have helped if I put down what I was actually looking at breeding!!!! Fun to watch you guys guess and make a big discussion lol, and one of you hit the nail on the head!
  23. I know that these guys are meant to be the easiest guys around to breed. I have bred plecos, rams, whiptails, many cichlids, fighters and the list goes on. But have I had a single fry from these guys lol… In all fairness I haven’t seriously had a go at it. I am thinking of getting a couple of medium sized plastic storage containers (from the wharehouse) and have two sets of 10 fish in with a lot of plants and duckweed and an air filter. Feed them up and do the whole transfer thing. If anyone has any extra tips of the trade??? Also some local breeders around maybe? My girlfriend works at a petshop, but would prefer support the little guys lol.
  24. And if you decide to hatch a baych on your own when mummy and daddy are being silly the slate will be easy to transfer into a hatching tank
