  8. I find that dropping the veges in boiling water for a few minutes and blanching them makes them sink and you dont need the weigh them down.
  9. Weld it with a plastic welder. You can get special plastic strips that can be melted to existing plastic to fix the crack. plastic strips are melted to the outside of the crack and everything pretty much sticks together when hot.
  10. I find that if my canisters are beside or above my tanks then they accumulate air in them and eventually stop. same the the new fluvals, they get air in them but dont stop, they just pump the air out into the tank. so IMO i would keep it below the tank, then you wont have to worry about anything and probably best to replace the impeller also to reduce any further damage to the impeller well etc.
  11. wow you don't see them around very often. I want one. $3,500 i think not
  12. Ive always found that every now and then this hapens to my tanks as well. To fix it i just increase the surface water agitation by using a small power head with the water outlet out of the water. Works great and fish are fine.

Once had a baby/juvenile one that we fed on bread soaked in milk, grubs, worms etc we always released them after a few months but they where good to watch getting around on the lawn sniffing out food Very interesting critters.
