  1. I dont like the idea of breathing it in myself which is why I have never used it. I will hang in there and find an alternative.
  2. Thanks guys. Its so tempting as I HATE flies but I love my reptiles so will have to give it a miss. Will have to do some research to find a repellent that wont harm the reptiles.
  3. Would you use Raid Automatic Natural Pyrethrum in your home if you have reptiles? My reptiles are in a seperate room and the door is always closed. I just cannot stand the flies!!!! I have one of those hanging fly traps but it does not work so I was thinking of getting the natural Raid system but I am worried about the reptiles. Do you think it would be safe to use?
  4. Why bid hours or days before the auction ends. All you are doing is pushing the price up
  5. Be careful...once you get one you have to have more
  6. Google the black pearl leo or the black velvet leo....gorgeous!
  7. That would be my baby leo that's for sale. The colouring is nice I must admit. You'll see that the back legs are yellow and the front legs have a hint of yellow. This little one shed last night so is now more brown and white (new pic loaded on Trademe). As this one grows and sheds it may develop more yellow. Holding thumbs for that albino to pop up
  8. That sure is an awesome addition to your collection
  9. No shed I'm afraid. They are in the reptile room. They might need to move to the garage!
  10. I have stopped resisting and now have my own mice to breed
  11. Lol....rats bite harder than mice. I dont think I could do rats because I adore them and would end up keeping them all!
  12. I guess I'll be breeding them myself
  13. Yes for my lizards. Looks like I might have to. Really did not want to go down that road...they smell
  14. Have tried loads of pet shops but would not know where to begin to find mice breeders
  15. Besides breeding them myself - where can I get mice pinkies?
  16. Oh my word! That is aweful I do hope that the cops can do something about it.
  17. Oh no! Sorry to hear that.
  18. Yeah it does make it much easier to have them seperate. Keeps us updated on the eggs
  19. Hey Doug. It's not impossible to keep track of the mother when breeding in a colony if you keep a close eye on them. First of all you will notice which one is digging and secondly you can see the eggs through the belly. If you check their bellies frequently you will know which ones are gravid and if you do miss the digging and laying you can check the bellies to see who's eggs are gone. Also the gravid female that is close to laying will stop eating in most cases. They also tend to shed before laying. Hope that helps
  20. Yes the incubation temperature can influence colour. The fact that there are some that are more "yellow" than others does not mean that new leo's were brought in. That's is exactly what line breeding is all about. Due to the fact that all the leo's in NZ are related you might as well say that anyone who has bred them has been line breeding! Out of this there are bound to be individuals hatched with better colouring. MAF needs to study the genetics of leo's so that they understand that leo's that are more high yellow does not mean anything suspect is going on. It's simply a natural progression......
  21. Congrats! Hope all goes well and they are fertile
