    Mosquito Uprising

Maybe you have a bunch of vegan fish? I've put thousands of mosquito larvae in my tanks and they were all eaten within a day.

    Mosquito Uprising

Uhh, how about putting fish in the tank? There must not be any in there otherwise they should have all been eaten.
  3. Malaysian trumpet snails are supposed to be livebearers. Don't know about any others.
  4. Then you can't see my tank. hehe, Nah, if you want to make the drive up to Silverstream over the weekend just lemme know. I'm probably the furthest out of your way though.
  5. Not much to see in my tank, but if you bring me a soft coral or LPS frag you're welcome to visit.
  6. I've found filter wool over the filter intake works great too. Just rubber band it around the intake and give it a rinse every day or two. Cleaned a massive green algae bloom for me anyway that I couldn't get rid of even doing 75% water changes every other day.
  7. How long has it been? Swap the two pieces positions around and then let us know how they go in the same amount of time.
  8. Heh, I thought you'd especially appreciate that Pies. Nah, mostly noone's come out and said what's needed and with the amounts I buy I haven't bothered to find out.
  9. And when you let them out of their rooms you should make them hug and apologize. On second thought, *DING* round 2!
  10. Hey, I pay retail! Mostly...Cause I don't know of any way not to.
  11. Oooh, those look good, I'll have to remember them.
  12. Hey, Jetskisteve, you guys wouldn't happen to have any nice LPS left that I could get RnB to bring to Wellington for me?
  13. Change of plans, trip has been cancelled.
  14. Any idea what the shipping will be like? Might be in for a pair of seio M820s.
  15. If you could learn to trigger the spawning reliably maybe you could do something similar to with fish. Throw them in a seperate breeding tank, and get them to spawn in there. I don't know what the rest of coral's life cycle is like, but if it's not too difficult you could get them in insane numbers....
  16. Hmmm, If I were going to sell my whole setup at once I'd probably aim for around $2K. Probably a bit high, but, I'm not in any hurry to sell it.
  17. Solution? Time everything to go with the real moon's phases. I think the tides thing could be done with some fairly straightforward adjustments using a wavemaker. The important thing would be getting some kind of numbers from the wild to replicate. On X date the current is this much and the moonlight is this strong, the next day it's this and this, next day and so on. THen you just have the moonlight and current tweaked slightly automatically to match it. Ok, conceptually it's easy, implimenting it would probably require it to be run by a PC and getting the current right...
  18. Chimera, flatworms... The little bastards are starting to swarm in my tank again.
  19. I want some LPS! Gotta stock up on heaps.
  20. Definitely want to stop by your place, Chim. Yours and Steves are at the top of the list.
  21. Yep, planning on driving up. Steve, PM me your addy please? Don't suppose there's any chance I could get a look at you guys quarantine?
  22. The wife and I are thinking of heading up to Auckland for queens bday weekend. Anyone up there going to be available for visitors say on the sunday and maybe to sell some frags?
