    Tanks Outside

Or dig a hole and put the tanks in it. Then you have little ponds.
  2. Also, the trace amounts of salt are harmless. Dosing the tank with salt for trying to illnesses or whatever uses 10 times the amount of salt you'd get from even a massively salty big log.
  3. I doubt most people would even notice 10% unless it's accompanied by an increase of at at least 30% mental horsepower.
  4. It's really nice here, but a bit hot to be outside doing yardwork...Well, not really yardwork, clearing piles of rotten wood and chainsawing up the not so rotten bits.
  5. There's a huge amount of other factors that come into play that makes that 1 pound = xxxx a VERY vague guideline. And if your goal is to have fun rather than Mod=Warren: Swearing removed, warning sent factor I'd say save the $1000 on wheels and spend it going to Manfield for an open day every once in a while, I assume they still have them.
  6. Haha, Yes, impeller cover, very important.
  7. To be absolutely sure you'd need to know the distribution of the weight, not just the total weight since I'm pretty sure it's not going to be a constant density across it. But let's assume it is for both(They'll have similar weight distributions I think, at least) IIRC the momentum in this case would be Momentum=1/2radius*weight So, ignoring units just to get a relative number(I can't be bothered converting into the right units to get newton meter seconds)...The 17 inch will be 81.6 whatevers, the 18 will be 78.3 and the 65.45. Basically, don't be a ricer, stay with what you have and put the money into something that will have more than a tiny effect.
  8. Blowing on the water, pointing it at the glass won't do anything at all other than using up your poser.
  9. Don't bother with a thermostat. Just put the fan on a timer set to come on in the morning and go off at night. I assume you have a heater in it? That will keep it from getting too cold.

    Live rock

I'd suggest not going so much by weight but grab any nicely shaped big pieces.
  11. The ammonia isn't going to build up enough to be a problem in 7 hours.

    Live rock

Better getting a good batch of liverock off Suphew, then you'll get hitchhikers too.(Good not bad ones, hopefully) and then bulk up the rest of your tank with bought baserock for less money.
  13. If your tank is so borderline that a little current becomes a significant concern it's going to break when you walk past it in a bad mood.
  14. Those would most likely be Rosellas, totally different species.

    Live rock

That's basically the only way. All rock coming into the country has to be..Ummm...Sterilised so it's just dead base rock. So either buy liverock from someone or buy a bunch of baserock and seed it with liverock.

    Tanks Outside

I have a 4 ft tank I've thrown snails into I keep thinking I could put some guppies in for live food. They'd eat all the mosquito larvae I've been collecting from it though. I haven't actually thrown a thermometer in it, but it's got to be at least 28+ because it feels warm and my inside tanks at 26ish feel cold. Heh, you're aware that glass is used for things like windows and glasshouses that are constantly exposed to the sun?
  17. Yeah, but we already know you're a ricer.

    Borneo sucker

    All showing fine this time.
  19. $280...heh, Take the wheel off and leave it there, new wheel and tire would likely be less than that.

    Borneo sucker

    Interesting...I see 10 homer simpsons.
  21. 40mm? You won't even be able to fit a plec into that without some kinda lubricant.
  22. 15-20 ppm of nitrate is perfectly fine. Not going to be a problem.
  23. Can you be more specific on your nitrates than through the roof?
  24. That would have been really good with a wider DOF or focused on the closer seeds instead of a couple rows back.
