  1. Lets just face it, both sides of the argument is as ignorant as the other. Neither are willing to take responsibility or action to prevent/resolve the apparent issue. Lose-lose with the authorities equally weighted on both sides of the fence.
  2. Indeed, I'm sure he will go far. Auckland seems quite "loose" about cats laws in comparison. http://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/EN/l ... blems.aspx
  3. If ever the ridiculous law is passed that cats are to be caged, which I sincerely doubt will, then I will adhere to such a law and become a "responsible" cat owner. The common sense would be for the gardeners to ALSO take responsibility since they are the ones that have the issue NOT the cat owners. Clearly that isn't going to happen.
  4. Trade Me often has it as does the forum. I have been to a guy in Greenhithe who sells it and is happy with small purchases.
  5. I hear you point(s) but lets leave it to the authorities to decide how cats/animals should be kept.
  6. Why blame cat owners for your way of thinking, surely you as an adult can make your own decision to like or dislike cats which isn't based on others thoughts? But apparently not. Perhaps suggest how one would control a cat since you asked this of me? As for you crapping on my lawn, I would not need to control you as I believe you would be arrested for indecent exposure....*gag*
  7. "Mistreatment of cats, Council responds to complaints about the welfare or ill treatment of any cats. If you have a concern about this contact us".
  8. Must be a family trait?? If only the SPCA and such organizations had knowledge what these kind of people do willingly and gloat about, how they can be trusted with fish one never knows??? One can only hope that karma will be dealt to spineless thugs.
  9. And what lovely people you both must be to willingly poison another creature, bless you both. You actions speak volumes.
  10. Why bother? You can't be bothering to cover your garden why bother with those other things. Seems your complaining for nothing, put up or s**t up.
  11. Ignorance is indeed bliss but on BOTH sides of the arguement.
  12. Just because you disagree with my reasoning doesn't mean it's wrong. Wrong to you, not necessarily everyone. And on that note, I'm off to make pizza for dinner.
  13. Silly or common sense? Seems like it's just far too hard for many? Why kick a stink when it's easily resolved? How can you help people who won't help themselves?? As for the roaming dogs, what good is a law when the "authorities" won't enforced them? The authorities have visited dog owners in my area several times a year and yet they still have the dog and they are still roaming. Go figure!!!
  14. Why not? I have too tolerate my neighbors/neighborhood dogs roaming, digging up my garden and chasing my cats when the SPCA/Dog Control won't do anything about it.
  15. If you won't/can't think outside of the square then why complain/have a garden. Point of interest, I have 2 cats and live in the middle of a large cat population yet I don't have such issues. Weird much.
  16. I guess if people can't got the extra mile then there is no helping them or their garden :nilly:
  17. Why not cover your garden with mesh or such? The poo would be great for your garden but dangerous if your a woman, which I have no idea if you are or not?
  18. WOW!! Just as well domestic dogs (or cats) don't roam in packs, the SPCA would certainly have their job cut out for them. Although, the damage from a pack of dogs is far more intensive then a sole cat. :rolfl:
  19. Methods such as sterilization/population control, collars with bells, geographical isolation e.g. islands just to name a few. Why should people lock animals (cats or dogs) inside all day to suit people, with no tolerance? Lets lock those people inside and see how they "deal" with it? Not very well I can imagine? My question is then why should a non dog owner, who has cats or not, have to put up with dogs doing the same thing or worse? What it comes down to is Cats VS Dogs. Some people like dogs and some cats, some both and some neither. Lucky for them all they have the SPCA and other organizations.
  20. Don't generalize, not ALL cat/pet owners are irresponsible. How one would enforce/control this? A fence/enclosure? Electric barrier? Either way, it's a complicated task, it doesn't help that cats naturally have a very large territory. I feel that killing is the easy way out and doesn't actually "fix" the problem in the long term...look at the dreaded RCD. After all the killings and burning the disease is still present. There are more educated/professional methods to be used.
