  1. Some VERY nice ones there Incl Sea Horses!!!
  2. I'll pop in after my heli ride this arvo
  3. and dont skimp on any of the parts you buy, because you'll just end up buying the better one after a while anyway! Patience is definatly the key
  4. Without knowing the species I can't say, but in most cases, the ones ya get from the local waters wont survive in the heated water unfortunatly
  5. If I remember tomorrow I'll see what we've got at work. I've seen the charger ur talking about but not sure if we stock them or not (i.e not my department) I know we've got a plug into the wall USB charger if u want one of those? haha
  6. How noisey? Assuming theres nothing obvious (like broken shaft) then it may just need to develop a slime coat again? When I first got mine they were quite noisey, like a vibration type noise, but after about a week and a bit of slime built up they're as quiet as a mouse now.
  7. Yeah he doesn't have a PC at home so he's only online when he's at work. I'm assuming he'll see the post tomorrow when he's back, unless he's slacking off for another week?
  8. Realistically how much are you hoping to get Conch?
  9. John must have a hidden stash or rock out the back I dont know about? lol
  10. I'd be interested, but planning a tank upgrade myself so dont really have the spare $ I'd love those blue mushies! haha
  11. That is some mean coralline algae growth you have there, how long have you been cycling for? Where did you get the rocks from? The weedy type stuff as mentioned is ok, but the little brown anemone things, Aiptasia, is something ya need to get rid of, and it will be what John was cutting out of the rock. You are bound to get them throughout ur experiences owning a reef tank no matter how hard you try to keep them away. I'd suggest poping into Organism and seeing if John has any Joes Juice. Thats what I use on mine and it seems to work quite well The bottom photo looks a bit like a feather duster or a tube worm. You'll end up with tons of those and they're beneficial filter feeders, nothing to worry about Post pics up of ur whole setup, I'm always interested when a new CHC reefer starts up
  12. No  I haven't got round to it yet, bit scared! lol
  13. My Mg has been floating above 1500 for about a month and a half now, no ill effects. Seemed to skyrocket when I started using the Red Sea Pro Coral Salt. Now that i've stopped using it its slowly coming back down again.
  14. To be honest, I dont think ur cyano is that bad at all. When its bad, its bad! Red slime on every bit of exposed rock that isn't covered by coralline algae or a coral. I think ur best bet is to get that DI unit up and running asap! If you want, you can borrow my TDS meter? Save you buying one urself.
  15. 10m is quite good. I'm gunna sort myself out a Fuji with a 40M rated underwater case for Diving Cant wait to see some underwater pics of ur tank reef
  16. where did u get the live ones from?
  17. Its one of the pen type ones. Just a cheapy
  18. OK so got a cheap TDS unit. The unit was spitting out water @ 17ppm (tap water here in CHC read 45ppm) Replaced First RO cartridge, changed it to 8ppm, replaced DI cartridge, 0ppm Seems i'm unable to test the tank water tho, the unit reads ERROR, and thats the same for my saltwater storage aswel. Oh well at least I know i'm using excellent water now
  19. Have you tried ur own swearing technique whilst trying to feed daphnia?
  20. I still get the urge to buy an RSM Even tempted to get one so I can make my main display a FOWLR and have a few triggers in there. That'll sort my naughty Blue Tang out! If ur successful with the Mandarin Babies, I'll be keen on one
  21. Thats pretty cool! Similar to what my clowns do, although I dont think they have any idea what they're doing the silly little monkeys
