Most of us have many tanks, how do you guys deal with plugs/points etc. I have two plugs in my room, 1 plug powers 10 things then other 4. Yes I know very unsafe and NO they aren't ALL plugged in at the same time. I've been given the hard word from mum to get a surge board? Some-thing that stops a fire? Any-one have any tips or comments, and NO moving out isnt a option... yet! :lol:

Also to add, my mum also brought 2 discus off Trade Me the other night, and they weren't expected to be here until Friday, so lucky she was home as they turned up today, the heatpad was cold and one of the bags were torn and the discus was only just hanging on with the few drip left in the bag :-? not a pleasant experience with the first time we have shipped fish.

I do agree though, most of my friends who have now got tanks are mainly aloud 100L tank max, so I guess we should feel privelleged

Her Gravid spot is dark so she could be, quite hard to tell with those photos though, just keep an eye on her. Shes beautiful by the way.

Im 17 have 5 tanks running and not even charged board Im allowed an Aro but i'm only 5" so im scacred the thing will gobble me up.

I also wouldn't empty the whole lot, only change half the water at the most. But id be doing 1/4 water changes weekly

I would not clean the pebbles as that were your good bacteria is. Your filter should be sucking up most of the yuckys like poo and left over food.

Sorry should have mentioned we done the filter :roll: That was the first thing really. Will it not harm them doing a 75% water change? I was thinking 50% but id have to add in hot water right? to bump up the temp?

I wasn't to sure if it was the "mucus" discus let out or not. Its hard to explain, its not white spot, nor is is "fluffy"

On Tuesday my mum went to Auckland for the night, with that said it left her 400L discus tank for her partner to look after. Some how half a container of food got tipped into the tank (*points to 14yr brother*) So last night when she came home (after cursing for about an hour) she gravel vac the tank did 1/3 water change. But today 3 out of 12ish?? discus are not looking good, i.e swimming on there side, blue one has "white-ish" stuff on it. I'm guessing the Ammonia is high (haven't got my test kit at home) is there any-thing else we can do for her fish besides daily water changes?

Thanks guys for all the help! Mum wants to get one for winter but I was worried worried about waking up to dried up tanks, we all do weekly water changes so it should be sweet then
