I had dinner. Wedges, coslaw and onion soup with cheese Oh right. I was just going by what dad said. Just goes to show he doesn't know as much as he thinks he does. That's the last time I ask him about technical stuff like that; better to ask on here

Thanks heaps for that info #!CrunchBang, very helpful The GLA regualtors are made per order. I suppose I could just ask them to make me one with the correct voltage
  3. I'm trying to get stuff my mum likes because she really enjoys my tanks and it pleases me to see her so enthusiastic when I get really pretty fish that she likes. Plus I really liked the P simulans too, so that's why I was looking at getting some. Mum wasn't too keen on Embers for some reason, but I think they're really cool  I would definately go for the Emerald Eyes except that they grow up to 65mm, and I want something that won't outgrow the tank. I'll probably go for the dwarfs (Boraras maculatus) or a small school of Danio margaritatus (CPDs) and a few Danio erythromicron because mum loves the CPDs and the little blue danios. And I'll have to get myself a couple of Dario dario
  4. Where'd you get yours from? :bounce:
  5. Awesome work Good stuff

My dad works at a sawmill and he said that any equipment that was imported that was the wrong frequency didn't work too well or something... So you think that those GLA ones will still be alright or not?
  9. Hi everyone, Are these around in NZ at the mo? They are on the allowed list but I haven't seen them for sale in any shops at all and I haven't seen them on any fish lists in the Commercial Trade and Exchange. Does anyone keep/breed any? I'm just trying to get an idea of what sort of little fishies are around so I can try and decide what to stock my nano with Joe
  10. I currently don't have the room in my tank (unless I got a couple of partitions) and my funds are going towards my nano tank at the moment
  11. Wow those fish are incredible! !drool: :happy1: How much does a pair of each colour cost?

Stink I just realised that I can't get any of those GLA regulators because the power frequency in the USA is different to that in NZ; USA is 60hertz and NZ is 30hertz. I'll have to try and find something in NZ that has the right frequency. P44 since this is from the USA would it have the wrong frequency? If it does, how would you overcome this problem?
  13. Already said I'll take it on the What's Up? thread
  14. Actually I'm saving that because very soon I'll have another $100 saved so I can get my 2kg CO2 cylinder :happy1:
  15. Awesome thank you so much Caryl :happy1:

Cool then I'll get one of those ones from GLA So does the timer just plug in to the CO2? How exactly does it work? Does the regulator have a little computer thingy in it so when the timer turns the electricity on/off the CO2 automatically turns on/shuts off?

Can you post a link please to a nice timer thingy? How does the timer work? Does it attch to the regulator or does the CO2 line attach to it and then continues into the tank? I have been looking at other regulators, and I found some really cool ones that have a needle valve in them. GLA II CO2 Regulator http://www.greenleafaquariums.com/co2-regulators/gla-2-co2-regulator.html Nature Beast CO2 Regulator http://www.greenleafaquariums.com/co2-regulators/nature-beast-regulator.html How do they compare to the one in the link that you posted?

Yep I'll take it. If you can hang on to it for a bit then I'll get back to you as I currently don't have enough cash but I should do in about a week or so. P44 do you think 2kg will be fine for the 20L tank? Sounds groovy Just wondered what is a needle valve? I've heard of them before in CO2 systems but you heven't mentioned it. Is it important at all and what is it's function? Are you planning on having your CO2 on a timer? What sort of timer thingy will I need because I want mine on a timer, especially since it's for a nano tank so I don't want any fluctuations which I'll have if I have to turn it on manually.
  19. Water's not bad. Bubble Counter Fluid is just better, and it doesn't evaporate. http://www.greenleafaquariums.com/co2-bubble-counters/bubble-counter-fluid.html

    The What's Up? thread.

Could you please post links to all the sites that you got stuff off? I want to do pressurized CO2 on a 20L nano. I was thinking of using the Fluval Mini 88gram set but if I can get all the bits seperately and get a much larger bottle that's refilable then I'll be much better off than I will with the Fluval System because it costs $36 for a replacemnt 88gram cartridge. Oh and while I'm talking about nanos I need your expert advice - for the lighting I want to get either 2x 8w T5 PowerGlos or a 27w 8,000K (or 6,700K if that's better) CF. What would you reccommend? Or is there anything else that you would go for other than those two options? The tank is going to be 360x220x260mm (ADA Mini-M) Are you going to replace all the tubes with Plant Pros? You're going to have a very purple tank!

How much did that all cost? What's wrong with the T5HO? Sorry for all the questions, just curious lol
  22. Since my family doesn't have an international credit card, I asked Caryl who has kindly agreed to help me ship some stuff from http://www.greenleafaquariums.com/ I am getting a CAL Aqua Fluxus Nano set (glass inflow and outflow pipes), a CAL Aqua Nano Drop Checker, a bottle of Bubble Counter Fluid (for when I get the bubble counter) and 3m of CO2 Resistant Tubing And it's only $197.60 incl. shipping to NZ and GLA said that it will take 10-15 days or less to get here. Yay! :happy1:
