    i think you have to spend a bit of money to keep marines properly no matter what you keep in the tank. start another thread about wanting to get into marines there are a few salties with experience on here who will lend you their expertise and experience

  7. right purple one that was where i was heading or yarimochi has rediscovered the grayling
  8. IMO thicker stuff would spread the load more if you are putting on the bare steel if on a thick piece of ply that is level the 10mm should suffice, my opinion only

    got one in the big marine tank he got stuck on the powerhead inlet blew up to the size of a large softball don't worry was ok afterwards

    which puffer and what size are you asking about? smaller puffers probably a 3 footer whereas the larger ones 6 foot plus
  12. yes good idea, forgot that gannets 2.4m x 60cm x 60cm tank came with a badly made wooden stand, we got a 30mm sheet of marine ply base size, laid that on stand and packed it to take out all of deflection then 10 mm of poly on top, tank has 100+kg of rock in it and still going strong
  13. correct david the stand does not suit the purpose it was made for

  18. correct they make a good food for brackish and marine fowlr tanks grass is starting to stand up better slowed down flow through sump put on a queen skimmer for 1 hour a day at mo just incase of spikes from die off of older grass stalks
  19. 7 in there from 1 year to 4 years old, thats where the yellow tadpoles came from, takes a bit to keep them fed, got one anorexic frog donated a couple of months ago, it is finally putting on weight
  20. day 10 sump still running 15 mins each day running through reef tank temp 24c, no heater yet slowly removing triplefins and snails, still a lot of brackish native shrimp in there
  21. finally got some pics of the frog tank 4 x 2 x 2 foot, sliding glass doors, mesh lid with nylon zip sewn in for ease of getting live food in from the left side from the right
