  1. fish keeping is not a competitive sport the competition was set up for fun for those members who wanted to have a go at setting up a small tank much like the photo of the month comp that is run on here each month the photos are kept anonymous to create a level playing field for all involved the issue is not about wether or not it is competitive but about somebody using another aquatic keeping website to promote their tank photos in a competition on this site and blatantly soliciting that websites members to vote for the said photos it is not something i considered good sportsmanship and i was trying to find out how others felt about it i thought you might of been more concerned about fairplay than wether or not fish keeping is competitive
  2. they look good in the saltwater pool spoon i used to like shopping at the dump when i was younger, they were a good find thanks very much
  3. not a spinal one but used to get my shoulder joints done regularly the small amount of pain was worth the relief later
  4. just had a lady in with a sick turtle at home, the vet had tried a few things have advised her to join up and describe the situation if she brings turtle in i will take pics
  5. it is usually after a long session of fingernail waving on the boys part

  7. if we had a tank photo competition and somebody used another aquatic keeping website to promote their tank photos and linked back to this sites comp would it be considered good sportsmanship ?
  8. the fluffy red stuff is plastic plant spoon sent me not quite the right colour but i thought it would give harassed fish somewhere to hide bass would be good
  9. not really sam, i have seen them bigger when they have wintered over in small pools in shaded areas

  11. from your description of the tank he may not be used to things walking past the tank or looking in staying still is a defense mechanism, if i stay still you can't see me

  13. those lady turts can be agressive little half moons missing from the boys shells
  14. nice one donna i wonder if insects have been chewing on it during hibernation?
  15. as ryan said just keep it seperate a filthy tank from a human perspective may not look the same through fishy eyes
  16. i agree on the excess calcium theory too repto i have seen lion cubs fed too much calcium that developed nodules/spurs in their joints
  17. not an expert just seen a lot of turtles as alan said humidity in tank may be a problem if you have lids on it a pic would be good
  18. they go well with pipefish though
  19. how much heat is the powerhead providing in the tank?
