  2. The only way to confirm a blockage would be to, once its dead, go down the intestinal tract with a finger and thumb either side and feel for a hard lump.
  3. Pics were good, well done the surgeon, a good healthy looking fish. I would run with Colour-genes suggestion of a possible blockage
  4. Sprays, disease, off food, temp should all have seen more deaths. fish aren't skinny or have dropsy and no external damage so predator isout of the picture too Are gills red/pink? Autopsy time, liver a good colour and does stomach contents smell bad? '
  5. Carpet Sharks, Juvenile Bluenose, Porcupine fish, Cup corals and Jewel anemones

  9. As you mature you will come to realise not to make a judgement until you know all the facts. Someone fishing on a boat caught the young hammerhead on a boat and stuck it in their live bait tank but forgot to turn the pump on y the time they got back it was on its last legs, I tried to resurrect it but it was a no go. i have the ability to build bigger tanks as my fish grow and when they get too big then they can be transported to somewhere like kelly tarltons, though i would probably send it to Napier Aquarium instead. Or just build my own Aquarium
  10. Died in transit. animals do not go around checking each others credentials before breeding. A bit of reading for you.
  11. Going to have to retrain the Carpet sharks for feeding now the new tank has eurobracing on it. Before i had them coming to the front and feeding at the surface but have trouble getting my hand i there now to feed the biggest female, lol.
  12. It is indeed, just missed out on a small hammerhead the other day, sadly it didn't make the trip back. Long term plan is to breed the carpet sharks. Then a bigger aquarium.

  15. Halfbeaks school while young but when mature can be aggressive with each other especially the males when breeding
  16. The joys of the modern age and the instant gratification of today's social media, facebook etc.started about 3 years ago. At least in here your question or tank log doesn't disappear down the page and into the internetness It is almost like digital immortality. The rebranding was done to integrate the website and forums into one package and to catch up with technology and the way the average person gets their fish info now.
